Information)
Masahisa Oba has been General Manager of The Peninsula
Manila since 2019. Prior to his appointment at The Peninsula
Manila, Mr. Oba held key executive positions at several other
Peninsula locations in Asia. Most recently, he spent several
years as Hotel Manager for The Peninsula Hong Kong; he also
served as Resident Manager and other various managerial roles
at The Peninsula Tokyo, and Executive Assistant Manager of
Food & Beverage at The Peninsula Shanghai.

A graduate of the Japan Hotel School and the Ecole Hôtelière de


Lausanne’s Hotel Management Program, Masahisa Oba has
nearly 26 years of hotel experience, 14 of which have been with
The Peninsula Hotels. After overdozen years with The Peninsula
Hotels, Mr. Oba sees his most current post as General Manager
of The Peninsula Manila as a crowning professional
achievement.

Mr. Oba speaks fluent English, and his interests include wine,
travel, and especially football (which he plays as well as
appreciates).
