Heart health: Study finds the blood types at
higher risk of coronary heart disease

Blood type refers to classification of blood, based on the presence and absence of antibodies and
inherited antigenic substances on the surface of red blood cells. There are 4 main blood groups – A,
B, AB and O. Your blood group is determined by the genes you inherit from your parents.

According to research by Harvard School of Public Health, your heart disease risk may be linked to
your blood type. In the study, senior author, and assistant professor, Lu Qi – and his colleagues
revealed the blood types which are "most dangerous". According to the study, people with blood
types A, B, or AB have a higher risk of heart disease in comparison with those with blood type O.
Researchers found that having the blood group AB tends to be most risky.
Coronavirus Surge: Reportedly, THESE Are The
Common Symptoms Seen In This COVID Surge

COVID cases are rising in the country right now. While many are anticipating this to
be the beginning of a massive wave of infection, health experts are saying that there
is nothing to worry about.

However, going with the nature of the virus and the disasters it had done in the
previous infections, we should not stop following the safety rules and COVID
appropriate behaviour.

The last 24 hours saw a big surge in COVID cases. 12,213 new cases have been
recorded in the last 24 hours, the highest surge so far in the last few months.

So far, the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has been the dominant strain of the
virus. The Delta variant, which caused the deadly infection wave during April-June
last year, subsided in the beginning of this year.

This week, cases of two new variants have been detected in the country. BA.4 and
BA.5 which are said to be the most transmissible subvariants of the Omicron variant
of the coronavirus have been detected in Maharashtra.

Tropical Storm Alex, 1st of season,

forms in Gulf of Mexico:

Tropical Storm Alex brought strong winds and rain to Bermuda before becoming a
post-tropical cyclone on Monday, days after the weather system caused flooding
across South Florida and killed at least three people in Cuba.

As of Monday afternoon, Alex, which became the first named storm of the 2022
Atlantic hurricane season early Sunday, had sustained winds of 60 miles per
hour, according to the National Hurricane Center. As the storm’s center moved away
from the island, the Bermuda Weather Service discontinued a tropical storm
warning, and Alex weakened into a post-tropical cyclone.
In its final update on the system, the Hurricane Center said Alex was quickly moving
east-northeast at 31 m.p.h. and was expected to continue drifting over the Atlantic
Ocean. Up to two inches of rain was expected on the island.
The Hurricane Center said that Alex's winds extended up to 195 miles from the
storm’s center. By 11 a.m., L.F. Wade International Airport had reported sustained
winds of up to 43 m.p.h., the center said.
In anticipation of the storm, public schools in Bermuda were closed Monday and
government offices would have a delayed opening, said Michael Weeks, Bermuda’s
minister of national security.

Public beaches on the island would also be closed for swimming, he said, adding that
public transportation — including buses and ferries — would be suspended for at
least the morning.

Global PC and tablet shipments to
reduce in 2022 for economic
slowdown, claims report:

The demand for PCs and tablets has slowed down for many
factors including — pandemic, war and inflation among others.
Now, a new report suggests that the global PC shipments are
going to take a hit this year due to the economic slowdown.
According to a report by International Data Corporation (IDC),
global shipments of PCs will fall 8.2% YoY in 2022 to 321.2
million units. Moreover, the report also suggests that the
worldwide demand for tablets is also expected to go down by
6.2% which will bring it down to 158 million units.
How will it affect the market?
The report has mentioned that PC shipments are expected to
remain well above pre-pandemic levels. Meanwhile, the report also
suggests that shipments are likely to return to positive annual
growth in 2023 and beyond, but it will result in a five-year
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of -0.6%. On the other hand,
tablets will face a bigger downfall over the same period as
competition from PCs and smartphones is expected to keep the
growth down, which will ultimately lead to a -2.0% CAGR.
