MANDATORY PASSWORD RESET

UJ cares about your information, guidelines on how to change your password

Your online security is important to us, to improve your security UJ will be expiring
all student passwords on Thursday 2 February 2023. Once this is done you will
need to reset your password for uLink.

Follow the guidelines below to help you:

Step 1 Login to uLink

Go to https://ulink.uj.ac.za.

Proceed to the uLink login page and select

“forgot your password”. Then follow the prompts.

• If you have never used uLink before, you need

to follow the “create a password link”.

• If you enter the wrong student number and

password, you will be presented with the error
message on the left.

Just retype the correct information and click

login again. Alternatively choose the “forgot your
password” option to reset your pass-word.

If you enter the incorrect password 3 times you

have to wait 15 minutes before trying again.

Step 2 Create a new password

• Enter your student number

• Enter your ID/Passport number

• Press Continue

Step 3 Enter the token

• Open your personal email that UJ has
on record for you.

• Look for the token in the UJ email and

enter it on uLink, then press continue.

Step 4 Confirm your new password

• Enter your new password twice,
then press continue.

• Never use the same password as on

your other online profiles.

• Take note of the password length and

complexity requirements.
