VEMBA ELI 1: Written Synthesis Assignment

For this assignment, you must write a synthesis of three academic/expert

articles about your chosen topic from BUS 626. Explain the concept you
have chosen (e.g., conflict, motivation, leadership, emotional intelligence)
using sources, such as your textbook, readings provided by the professor,
and outside sources. The purpose is to use expert sources to explain the
topic you are interested in (a mini "literature review" that tells what “They
Say” on the topic), so that later you can apply those ideas to your own
context ("I Say") as part of your Final Presentation.

Requirements:
• 400–500 words (around 2 pages double-spaced)
• 12-point font (Times New Roman or Arial recommended)
• Minimum of 3 academic/expert sources
o Listed in APA style at the end
o In-text citations must match references listed at the end
• Include at least one of each: direct quote, paraphrase, summary indicated
with the insert comments tool.
• Use a variety of template phrases to frame and synthesize the ideas from
your references, such as According to…Smith goes on to say… Refer to
the “Language Focus” sections in the textbook chapters on summaries and
also the "They Say, I Say" templates.

This is worth 40% of your final grade.
