International Students ECTS Practical Guide
Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry
University of Valencia, Spain
Dear student,
Thank you for your interest in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Valencia.
Please note that your admission depends on the acceptation of your Learning Agreement by
the School of Medicine in Valencia (Facultat de Medicina i Odontologia de la Universitat de València).
You will find this Exchange Student Guide for medical and dentistry students at the following website,
http://www.uv.es/uvweb/medicine/en/mobility-exchanges/incoming-students-other-
universities/erasmus-studies/incoming-students/general-information-1285849536668.html
Please, beware that is not possible to arrange practical clinical work in each subject. We would
therefore like to remind all international relations offices that your medical students are not allowed
to ask directly for clinical practices at any public hospital in Valencia, if they need our university’s
certificate afterwards. The legal and administrative problems this situation might create, whether or
not they are students registered at the University of Valencia, are very serious. Any task carried out by
a medical student has a social responsibility that has to be backed by an institution, and that means a
written permission from both home and host international coordinators. Please check the new
Erasmus+ Traineeship procedure.
http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/index_en.htm
We welcome all international students, and expect from them due respect to our
administrative and academic procedures.
Additionally, it is important that you send your new Erasmus+ Learning Agreement before June 15th
by email. It should be sent to the following address,

http://roderic.uv.es/handle/10550/37332
This is a guidebook designed for medical exchange students coursing clinical internships in Spanish
hospitals. Its purpose is to give an example of systematic question making to collect the medical history
and exploration data of a patient and also of writing a medical record in Spanish. In addition, it contains
vocabulary on anatomy, medical procedures, material, abbreviations and some synonyms in formal and
colloquial language frequently used by patients. Finally, there is a brief introduction to the structure of
Spanish health system and hospital functioning.
