MOUNT D8-3 INSIDE THE RECEIVER

WARNING! The receiver must NOT be opened by any other than a qualified installer. Make sure to
turn the electricity off before opening the receiver.

WARNING! Do not touch the area marked with danger when the receiver has been powered by
electricity. Touching the marked area may be very hazardous.

NOTE! D8-3 analogue input module can only be mounted inside the Tiger MX receiver.

1. Remove the display board by unscrewing the five screws and lifting it up. If a relay expansion
board is mounted, it has to be removed first.

FUNCTIONALITY
The analogue input module D8-1/D8-3 has two channels, CH1 and CH2. The two channels can receive
one input signal each. The analogue input modules are connected to the receiver with the
RS485/MODBUS.

IMPORTANT! The Tiger system supports a maximum of 4 input/output signals. This means that up to 4
analogue modules can be connected to the receiver if one channel per module is used or 2 analogue
modules if both channels are used.

CONFIGURATION SETTINGS FOR TIGER RECEIVER AND
TRANSMITTER
The receiver can be configured with warnings and alarms for weight limit, hysteresis*, relay control etc.

*A hysteresis value is used to increase the tolerance for small deviations. Hysteresis value can be set for
overweight and/or underweight limit and applies to both alarm and warning signal.

NOTE! The settings are made in the PC program Settings Manager. Contact your representative for
assistance.

The transmitter can be set to display analogue output signals in a number of different ways (e.g. indicate
weight limit alarm with LEDs).

NOTE! This requires customized software. Contact your representative for assistance.

CONFIGURATION SETTINGS FOR THE MODBUS

COMMUNICATION BETWEEN D8-1/D8-3 AND TIGER RECEIVER
Configure D8-1/D8-3 Analogue input module:
1. Connect D8-1/D8-3 unit to the PC program Settings Manager.
2. Go to MODBUS_ID and set slave address for the D8-1/D8-3 unit, (e.g. 1).
3. Go to CALIB_ID and define input signal for the D8-1/D8-3 unit, (e.g. 4-20 mA).
4. If CALIB_ID is set to "Custom", go to SYGNALTYPE and define input signal for the D8-1/D8-3
unit, (e.g. Current).
5. Save the settings.

Configure Tiger receiver:

1. Connect Tiger receiver to the PC program Settings Manager.
2. Go to MODBUSTDEVICES and set DEVICETYPE connected to Tiger receiver.
3. Under section MODBUSDEVICES, go to DEVICEID and set slave address for the D8-1/D8-3
unit, (e.g. 1).
4. Under section COMMONRADIO, go to FLAGS and diable cable control for RS485.
5. Save the settings.

2-POINT CALIBRATION

2-point calibration from Tiger MX receiver

1. In the receiver menu, select the first point to be calibrated.
2. Connect a known load to the hook (we recommend no load/zero weight for the first point).
3. Enter the weight of the first known load in the receiver menu.
4. In the receiver menu, select the second point to be calibrated.
5. Connect the second known load to the hook (we recommend 80-100% of the maximum load for
the second point).
6. Enter the weight of the second known load in the receiver menu.

- 12 -
2-point calibration from Tiger MN/MD receiver
2-point calibration of systems with Tiger MN/MD receiver can only be made from the Tiger transmitter.

2-point calibration from Tiger transmitter

2-point calibration from the Tiger display transmitter can only be made using the customized software.
Contact your representative for assistance.

MASTER RESET
1. Press the Select-button in the D8-1/D8-3 module. Keep pressed.
2. Connect the D8-1/D8-3 unit to the power supply. LED (green) lights.
3. Keep the Select-button pressed until the LED (green) goes out.
The system is now reset to the default setting values.
