Margoschis College at Pillaiyanmanai, Nazareth.
ABOUT OUR COLLEGE
Nazareth Margoschis College at
Pillaiyanmanai was started in the year 1967, in
memorial to an SPG Missionary from England
Canon Arthur Margoschis run by the
management of CSI Thoothukudi-Nazareth
Diocese. It is a Christian Minority Co-educational
Post Graduate Institution with Research Centre,
recognized by UGC under the 12(b) and 2(f),
affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar
University, Tirunelveli. The college provides higher
education to the youth hailing from economically
backward families of the surrounding villages
with the motive of uplifting their socio-economic
conditions.
ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT
The Department of Commerce was
established in 1982 under the aided stream. The
UG and PG self-finance courses were also
introduced during the academic year 2002-
2003. The Department of Commerce was
upgraded as a Research Centre by
Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli
with the introduction of Ph.D programmes in
2018. There are 3 research supervisors in the
Department. They guided 8 scholars who were
awarded Ph.D. and 10 scholars who are pursuing
Ph.D. With the vision of bequeathing quality
education to the minority community, the
department is filled with 5 eminent faculties and
8 self-finance teaching faculties. Under the
‘Career Oriented Programme’ the Department
of Commerce offers Certificate Courses in
‘Accounting with Tally’ and ‘Logistics
Management’
