1. What is real (eudaimonia) happiness.

• According to Aristotle eudaimonia is the highest human good, the only human good that is
desirable for its own sake rather than for the sake of something else. In Aristotelian Ethics
it is the condition of human flourishing or of good living. Eudaimonia happiness usually
involves pursuing worthwhile objectives and ambitions in order to get involved in goals
that provide contentment, happiness, and a feeling of achievement. This provides moral
qualities, self-awareness, a feeling of purpose, and contentment in every aspect in life.

2. What will you do to achieve such happiness?

• In life, there are many ways to achieve happiness and every human have different ways to
achieve real happiness. As an oldest child and a college student, it would take me too long
to achieve it. Firstly, I will prioritize myself and focus on my goals because once I prioritize
myself and know what my goal is, everything will flow smoothly on my way. Secondly, I
will explore my skills and capabilities. With this I will know who I can surround myself
such as with my same interest and values. This would also help me build a healthy
relationship with them. Secondly, I will explore my skills and capabilities. By doing so, I
will gain insight into whom I can surround myself with, individuals who share similar
interests and values with me. This exploration will also aid in cultivating a healthy
relationship with them, as we bond over common passions and goals. Lastly, I would make
this goal comes into life. With all of these, I can achieve eudaimonia happiness, as these
goals involves my personal development and live my life with purpose.

3. What would be the implications if we will "follow rules so you can be a good person" rather
than "be a good person by flourishing the individual's character".
• Government implemented rules and regulations for people to maintain peace and order,
fairness which obviously not consistently followed in the Philippines. The statement
"follow rules so you can be a good person" feels like we are forcing to be a good person
that our moral will always be based on rules. While “be a good person by flourishing the
individual's character" suggest that we have to prioritize our values, ethics, and moral
principle. With prioritizing it, we will have a genuine values and moral that will led people
to have empathy, integrity, and character development on their own ways without forcing
the. In my point of view if we will follow "follow rules so you can be a good person" people
will not be genuine with their values and moral, they will not have an empathy and
integrity. As they are following these rules just for social acceptance and not because they
want to and they understand that rules and the moral of why it was implemented.

4. Give examples/situations where you can apply the virtue of courage, temperance, and
generosity.
Virtue of Courage
• When I think about virtue of courage, the first situation that comes to my mind is when I
am expressing my thoughts or open up to my family, especially my mother, about how I
truly feel. Sharing my thoughts with my parents took me a lot of courage, as our
relationship isn't as close as that other mother-daughter pairs, and I fear that her response
may not align with my expectations. Moreover, I’m not typically the daughter who loves
to express or to talk about my feelings.

Virtue of Temperance
• When thinking about the virtue of temperance, I recall a challenging situation when my ex-
partner cheated on me. After our breakup, he tried to win me back, but I was tempted to
seek revenge because I felt he deserved it. However, I realized that retaliating would only
lower me to his level. Instead, I chose karma to do the work. Eventually I forgave him for
what did to me. Forgiveness didn't happen overnight; it took me almost three months after
I forgave him. This experience taught me the importance of exercising restraint and
patience, even in the face of betrayal and hurt.

Virtue of Generosity
• I often find myself giving advice to friends who are going through heartbreak and for me
that is an example of virtue of generosity. Mostly of my friends come to me for advices
when they are heartbroken because they know I’ve been through similar experience with
them. Being able to lend a listening ear and offer support feels really rewarding, and it's
something I'm happy to do for my friends.

5. What is the most important 'virtue' for you? (courage, temperance, generosity, etc) Explain
thoroughly why?
• The virtue of Generosity holds the most significance for me. It allows me to help others
and inspire them to do the same, creating a chain reaction of kindness. Also, generosity
will eventually lead us to courage and temperance. When people are generous enough, it
takes courage to overcome any fears or doubts, and temperance helps us give wisely.
Overall, generosity is not just about material things but it is also about giving moral
attitudes and fostering positive qualities to make a change in this world.
