A. Readings/Discussions

Homographs are words with the same spelling but have more
than one meaning. They may be pronounced the same or they may
be pronounced differently. In order to work out which pronunciation
and which meaning is appropriate, you need to be aware of the
context. Here are a few examples of homographs and their
meanings:

WORDS MEANINGS
- a deep voice or tone
1.) Bass
- a kind of fish
- to rip
2.) Tear
- a drop of water from the eye
- 60th of a minute
3.) Second
- after the first

- all that is contained inside something
- to bend at the waist
