AIMS AND OBJECTS OF ESTABLISHMENT OF PAKISTAN

INTRODUCTION:

Pakistan came into being on 14th August 1947. The Muslims of India had scarifies their wealth
honor & life to make a Pakistan reality. Struggle for attainment of Pakistan started very after
the war of independence 1857.

BASIS OF ESTABLISHMENTPAKISTAN:

 Basis of Pakistan can be traced through Islamic moral system. In other words it is Ideology
of Pakistan.
 It was a reactionary ideology against British exploitation and Hindu nationalism.
 Its aim was to save Muslim culture.

SIR SYED AND CONCEPT OF TWO NATIONS:

This was Sir Syed who firstly used the phrase Two Nations for Hindu and Muslims in sub-
continent after being convinced of their permanent mutual hatred.

IDEOLOGY OF PAKISTAN:

 It finds expression in Two Nation Theory.


 It was based on religion of Islam.
 Pakistan kamatlabkia, La IlahaIllallah was the core line of freedom movement.

AIMS OF ESTABLISHMENT OF PAKISTAN:

1. ENFORCEMENT OF SOVEREIGNTY OF ALLAH ALMIGHTY:

Prime objective of the demand for Pakistan was establishment of such a state where Allah’s
supremacy could enforce and a government based upon the Islamic principles can be instituted.

We did not demand Pakistan to acquire a piece of land, but we wanted a homeland where we
could introduce Islamic principles. (Quaid e Azam)

2. ESTABLISHMENT OF ISLAMIC DEMOCRACY:

Islam has given its concept of democracy which is different from western concept.In Islam
everyone is absolutely equal and no one enjoys privileged position.Khalifa on earth is
answerable to people and in heaven to Allah.Muslims wanted a country where ideals of Islamic
democracy could be achievedbecausethey want to live according to the principles of Islam.

The Quaid said on 14-02-1948 at Sibbi,

“Let us lay the foundations of our democratic system on Islamic ideals and principles.”

3. REVIVAL OF MUSLIM IMAGE AND IDENTITY:

In the united India Muslims were dominated by the Hindus in every social field. Muslims were
not in the position to compete with the Hindus because of their backwardness in education and
politics.The national image and identity of the Muslims was in great danger because of Hindu
domination.Muslims wanted revival of image and identity.

4. PROTECTION OF MUSLIM CULTURE:

Muslims were always a separate nation because of their distinctive cultural values. They were
easily distinguishable from other nations on the basis of their social behaviors. Muslim culture
was a proud symbol of their identity.Hindus always wanted to crush the Muslims as a nation
and ultimately to merge them into Hindu society.Muslims wanted to save it from Hindu
domination.

5. TWO NATION THEORY:

Entire freedom movement revolved around Two Nation Theory.It served as the basis of
demand for Pakistan.It meant that the Muslims were a separate nation with their distinct
culture and history, based on the concept of Tauheed, therefore, could not be assimilated in

any in any other system or religion.Sir Syed Ahmed khan was the first Muslim leader who
pronounced this theory.

6. EMANCIPATION FROM PREJUDICIAL HINDU MAJORITY:

Muslims came to India with conquering armies and permanently settled there in though
maintain their separate identity.The conversion of Hindus to Islam caused the population of
India to undergo a gradual change.The Muslim domination aroused Hindu jealously who had to
live under Muslim hegemony in spite of their numerical superiority.

With the arrival of the British regime Muslims lost their empire and rule and the British
extended favors to Hindus.Hindus eagerly looked for this opportunity to settle their old scores
with Muslims.Hindus and British adopted the cruel policy of mass elimination against the
Muslims and merge them in Hindu nationalism.

Demand for Pakistan was based on the feeling that Muslims should be emancipated from the
clutches of the eternal Hindu domination.

7. ESTABLISHMENT OF A BALANCED ECONOMIC SYSTEM.

The economic conditions of the Muslims under British rule were made terrible because of
biased policy.The Hindus had monopolized commerce and trade.After war of independence of
1857, Muslims were banned from entering into government service. They were considered only
for low ranked jobs.Muslims also lagged behind in the field of education.Therefore Muslims
wanted a balanced economic system based upon the economic principles of Islam which could
ensure a happy and stable economic life to every individual.

8. LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE:

The languages of the Muslims and Hindus are different from each other. The Muslimsspeaks
Urdu while Hindu speaks Hindi. Urdu is a modified script of Arabic language and includes
Persian, Arabic and Turkish words. Difference can also be noted in art, paint and in music etc.

9. MODE OF LIFE:

The Hindus and the Muslims had little in common in the day to day mode of life.The houses, the
utensils, the dress, the food, the festivals etc. of both the people are different
from each other.

10. GENERAL ATTITUDE:

Muslims had ruled over the sub-continent for eight hundred years. During this period
their attitude towards the Hindus was liberal and they protected their culture. After the fall of
the Mughal Empire, the Muslims became the worst victims of both the British and Hindu
hostilities as the British were partial towards Hindus because of their numerical superiority.The
Muslim apprehended that they would lose their entity if they remained the part of
Hindu society.

OBJECTS:

By focusing on the aims following are the objectives of creation of the Pakistan;

 Pakistan was to establish a free Islamic Society having its own identity and government.
 To practice its own social principles and religion and inviting the Muslims of the world,
particularly and others generally to adopt the Islamic way of life.
