َ علَ ْي ِه َو َّ صلَّى
َ َُّللا َ as saying, “(Make sure to) Take a meal a little
before dawn, for there is a blessing in taking a meal at that time.”

َ علَ ْي ِه َو َّ صلَّى
َ َُّللا َ said, “The pre-

It was narrated that Abu 'Atiyyah said: "I said to 'Aishah ( )رضي للا عنها: 'Among us there are two of
the Companions of the Prophet صلى هللا عليه وسلم, one of whom hastens Iftar and delays Suhur, and the

َ َُّللا َ used to do."'

Abdullah Ibn Mas`ud ( )رضي للا عنهnarrated: Allah's Messenger ( )ﷺsaid, "The (call for prayer) Adhan
of Bilal should not stop anyone of you from taking his Suhur for he pronounces the Adhan in order
that whoever among you is praying the night prayer, may return (to eat his Suhur) and whoever
among you is sleeping, may get up, for it is not yet dawn (when it is like this)." (Yahya, the sub-
narrator stretched his two index fingers side ways).
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud ( )رضي للا عنهthat the Messenger of Allah ( )ﷺsaid: “The
Adhan of Bilal should not prevent anyone of you from eating Suhur, for he gives the Adhan to alert
those among you who are asleep, and so that anyone who is praying can prepare himself for
fasting. The Fajr does not come in this manner, rather it comes in this manner, and it appears along
the horizon.”
