A narrative description of the above EER diagram is given below.

COMPUTER
 Every computer has a model, an installation date, and a unique serial number which has a unique IP address as
it exists on the company network.
 When the super class is a computer, we consider laptop and desktop to be sub classes.
 A laptop has a brand in addition to the attributes of a computer. A desktop has a motherboard
model and a unique motherboard serial number.

ACCESSORY
o Accessory is a super class sub class that includes keyboard, mouse and monitor.
 Monitor is considered for its size and also its display.
o Each accessory has a unique serial number and brand.
o Each accessory is connected to a computer through a port.

SOFTWARE
o There are many software installed in all computers. As the company has a network, one software can use
multiple computers. Thereby, a many-to-one relationship.
o All software has a name, a version and a unique license.
o Every computer has an operating system. Perhaps the same operating system can be used on multiple
computers at once.
 The operating system is a subclass of the super class of software.
COMPONENT
o While component is a super class, it contains memory, video card and sound card as their sub classes.
o In addition to the super class attributes, there is a version, brand and a serial no. that are unique to each
component. Out of this serial number is unique as it differs from one component to another.
o Memory is considered for its storage and type, while the video card has storage as an attribute.
 To run one component, one specific driver software must be supported.
 A desktop computer can have one or more components as an additional option when needed.
 One laptop can have several memory options. A memory can connect multiple laptops at once.
