Report on Fresher’s Day 2018

Fresher's day is an official event to welcome newly admitted students in a friendly
atmosphere. It will be marked as a memorable day in the life of every fresher.
Sapthagiri College of Engineering organized Fresher’s Day on 16/ 08/2018 at 9.30 a.m at
Amphitheatre for the students of batch 2018. The event was precided by Sri G Dayanand,
Chairman and Managing Director, SCE., Sri G D Balaji , Executive Director, SCE.,Sri G D
Manoj , Executive Director, SCE.
The Chief guest for the event was Dr Krushna Chandra Gouda, Senior Scientist, CSIR,
Centre for Mathematical Modeling and Computer Simulations. The event was graced by Dr.
Shivabasappa ,Principal, SCE and Dr. K.R. Nagabhushan, Administrative Officer, SCE.
Inaguration of the event was done by a welcome speech ,Invocation, followed by lighting of the
lamp ,report of the college . introduction of the Chief Guest,Address by the Chief Guest and
lastly vote of thanks

The Chief guest, addressed the gathering and shared his valuable thoughts and
experiences and gave an insight about current trends and scope of engineering. The students
were further sent for interacting with the faculty members which was proceeded by lunch. The
event was a great success.

Report on Kargil Vijay Divas

Kargil Vijay Diwas, named after the success of Operation Vijay. On this day, 26 th July
1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani
intruders. The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 th July and resulted in
loss of life on both the sides. The war ended with India regaining control of all the previously
held territory, hence re-establishing the status. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26 th July
every year in honour of the Kargil War's Heroes. This day is celebrated in the Kargil–Dras sector
and the national capital New Delhi, where the Prime Minister of India pays homage to the

country to commemorate the contributions of the armed forces.

National Service Scheme (NSS Unit) of Sapthagiri College of Engineering organized Kargil
Vijay Diwas on 18th August, 2018. Chief guest of the function was Sir Nanjundappa, He shared
his experiences and motivated the students to join army and serve the nation. Students performed
Skit showing the importance of soldiers.Chief guest was felicitated by our beloved Principal Dr.
K. L. Shivabasappa, Administrative Officer Dr. K. R. Nagabhushana along with the Staff.

Report on Graduation day-2018

Graduation Day is, in simple words, the day of graduating or receiving an academic degree
upon completion of one's studies.

Graduation Day was conducted for Batch of 2014, of Engineering graduates on Saturday
08-09-2018 at 9.30 A. M at Amphitheatre. The event was precided by Sri G Dayanand,
Chairman and Managing Director, SCE. Sri G D Manoj , Executive Director, SCE.

The Chief guest for the event was Shri. Ganga Prasad,Senior Director,and Centre Head,
C-DAC, Bengaluru. The event was graced by Dr. K. L. Shivabasappa ,Principal, SCE and Dr.
K.R. Nagabhushan, Administrative Officer, SCE.

The program was started by the procession of the Chief Guest accompined by the
dignataries and followed by graduating students. Inauguration of the event was done by a
welcome speech and lighting of the lamp. The Chief guest, addressed the gathering and shared
his valuable thoughts and experiences and gave an insight about current opportunities for the
engineering graduates. Graduating students were awarded by the Chief guest and the photos were
taken. At the end of the event everyone proceeded for lunch and the function was a great success.

Cultural Committee

Navaratri is a Hindu festival which is celebrated with great pomp and splendour in India. The
festival is so called as it encompasses celebrations over a period of nine nights. In Karnataka,
Hindu temples and prominent sites are all lit up during Navratri. Mysuru Dasara is a popular
celebration during this time, and it is marked by a royal procession. On the ninth day of Navratri,
Hindus celebrate Ayudha Puja, wherein tools of livelihood and vehicles are not used. Prayers are
offered to the goddesses to protect the one who wields the tool. Another popular event is the
decoration of homes with art dolls known as Gombe. In a nutshell, the festival depicts the
universal theme of the victory of good over evil.

In Sapthagiri college of Engineering also Navaratri festival is celebrated with great pomp ,joy
and devotion. It is celebrated from 10-10-2018 to 18-10-2018. Nine days of Navarathri
Celebration is divided among the different departments. Saraswathi Pooja is performed in the
library and Ayudha pooja was conducted in their respective departments. Students parcipated in
the festival whole heartedly. The celebration included decorations, pooja and distribution of
prasadam

Report on KannadaSambhrama2018-19

Kannada Sambhrama is an event held in accordance with Kannada Rajyotsava. It was

held on 17th of November 2018. The event was graced by the dignitaries M S Narasimha Murthy
and Ravi Bhajantri. The guest was accompanied by the Principal Dr. K L Shivabasappa and
Administrative Officer Dr. K R Nagabhushan.

They were taken to the stage in a procession in bullock cart and our tradition Veeraghase.
Followed by lighting the lamp with our state anthem. Celebration started by hoisted the flag by
our dignitaries.

In the meeting, below mentioned points were discussed:

1. Review of the previous meeting discussion.

2. In the meeting it was decided that for Chanakya -2019,debug the C bug, circuit debugging,
circuit builder, gaming, hackathon and google it will be conducted on 26-03-2019 and 27-
03-2019.
2. For Shanthala-2019, Classical solo and group dance,Paperdance,on spot dance will be
conducted on 28-03-2019
3. For each event staff coordinators and student coordinators were selected and it was
decided that it is the responsibility if the staff coordinator to organize the event and
arrange judges for the event
4. Student coordinators have to take care of registration of students for the event.

Report On SANKALP 2019

“Sankalp”- the annual intra collegiate cultural fest of our college, is held over a period of two
days. The Cultural festival is organized to encourage and give enough knowledge on various
cultural activities for the students and staff of the college. Sankalp 2019 was held on 29 th and 30th
of March, 2019.

Day-1 of the Fest was started around 3pm at the Main stage set up in the college grounds. The
preliminary rounds of Music events were started first, followed up by the preliminary rounds of
Dance events. Sports Day Award distribution was conducted post the prelim rounds which was
attended by Sri. K R Laxminarayan (Former Intl. Volleyball Player), who addressed the
gathering about Sports palying an important role in Youth. Prof. KrishneGowdawas the Chief
Guest for the day, who arrived at 5pm and delivered a Comic Relief to the audience. Events post
the addressing mostly included Dance events and fillers.

Day-2 of the Fest started much earlier than the first day due to tight schedule of the events. The
evening started with the welcoming of the cast of the movie “RATNAMANJARI”. Popular
Sandalwood actor Sri.NinasamSatishwas the Chief Guest for the function. The Chief Guest was
welcomed into the college premises by a convoy arranged by the college students. The said
convoy arrived around 7pm to the main stage, which was followed up by the addressing of the
Chief Guest to the gathering. The Main event for the day was the Personality Contest wherein
students participate in couple of rounds (that includes Fashion Walk, Judges Question round,etc.)
and ultimately two students are crowned Mr. & Ms. Sapthagiri. The function ended with the DJ
Night which went on till 10:30pm.

Ethnic day was conducted on 04-05-2019. Ethnic day is all about representing different culture
which is colourful and vibrant celebration. It is celebrated in different regions in their own

Report on VTU YOUTH FEST 2018-2019

Date: 1st November to 5th November 2019

Place: BheemannaKhandre Institute of Technology, Bhalki
Participants: 36 students along with 3 faculty members

Day 1 – 31st October

 Left College at 9:30 PM from college premises.

 Bus was booked in “Sri Balaji Travels”.
 We had Sanjay Kumar J H, Hemanth Kumar and Prathima as faculty coordinators.
 Break was given the next day for getting freshening up near Gulbarga at morning 6:30.
Day 2 – 1st November

 We reached Bidar City in the afternoon at around 2 PM.

 Everyone’s accommodation was arranged in Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib Gurudwara in Bidar
city 40 kms far from the college.
 Boys were allotted 2 rooms and 2 rooms were allotted for girls.
 Food was arranged in the nearby school.
Day 3 – 2nd November

 This the day 1 of VTU youth fest 2018.

 We reached college and finished all registrations and submitted all required documents.
 We had Mime as the first event of the day.
 Classical Vocal Solo was conducted in the evening in a classroom.
 Elocution was conducted on the first day in evening slot.
Day 4 – 3rd November

 Day 2 of youth fest and we were scheduled for 5 events for the day.
 First event was Folk Group dance in the morning.
 It was followed by debate in the noon around 12 PM.
 The western solo was scheduled next and was performed at around 3 PM.
 The light music also took place at around 5:30 PM
 The Classical dance solo was the last event of the day and it took place at around 7 PM.
 We headed back to Gurudwara for stay.

Day 5 – 4th November

 This is the last day of the VTU youth fest.

 We were scheduled for 3 events in total.
 The first event took place in the morning that was Indian Group Music.
 The second event that was scheduled was Western Group Music and it took place at
around 4 in the evening.
 The On- Spot photography happened in the meanwhile as it was whole day event with
topic being “capturing the campus and candid moments”.
 After all the events and procedures were completed, we were given certificates of
participation and a memento for the same.
 We also won a prize for Debate and it was sent to the college on a later date.
 We left the College campus and on our way to Bengaluru at around 9 PM in the night.
 We stopped in Bidar for Dinner at night and in the morning for freshening up and
breakfast.
 We reached college campus in the noon at 1:45 PM.

Chief Guest to the gathering. The Main event for the day was the Personality Contest wherein
students participate in couple of rounds (that includes Fashion Walk, Judges Question round,etc.)
and ultimately two students are crowned Mr. & Ms. Sapthagiri. The function ended with the DJ
Night which went on till 10:30pm.

Report On SANKALP 2019

“Sankalp”- the annual intracollegiate cultural fest of our college, is held over a period of two
days. The Cultural festival is organized to encourage and give enough knowledge on various
cultural activities for the students and staff of the college. Sankalp 2019 was held on 29 th and 30th
of March, 2019.

Day-1 of the Fest was started around 3pm at the Main stage set up in the college grounds. The
preliminary rounds of Music events were started first, followed up by the preliminary rounds of
Dance events. Sports Day Award distribution was conducted post the prelim rounds which was
attended bySri. K R Laxminarayan (Former Intl. Volleyball Player), who addressed the
gathering about Sports palying an important role in Youth. Prof. KrishneGowdawas the Chief
Guest for the day, who arrived at 5pm and delivered a Comic Relief to the audience. Events post
the addressing mostly included Dance events and fillers.

Day-2 of the Fest started much earlier than the first day due to tight schedule of the events. The

REPORT ON GRADUATION DAY 2019

Graduation is the award of a diploma or academic degree, or the ceremony that
is sometimes associated with it, in which students become graduates .Graduation day plays an
important day in every graduate’s life.

Graduation Day of SCE was conducted for Batch of 2015, of Engineering

graduates on Saturday 11/ 05/2019 at 9.30 A. M at Amphitheatre. The event was precided by Sri
G Dayanand, Chairman and Managing Director, SCE. Sri G D Manoj , Executive Director,
SCE. The Chief guest for the event was Shri A S Kiran Kumar, Padmashri Awardee an Indian
Space Scientist and former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation. He is credited with
the development of key scientific instruments abroad, the Chandrayaan -1 and Mangalayaan
spacecrafts. The event was graced by Dr. Shivabasappa ,Principal, SCE and Dr. K.R.
Nagabhushan, Administrative Officer, SCE. The program was started by the procession of the
Chief guestaccompined by the dignataries and followed by graduating students. Inaguration of
the event was done by a welcome speech and lighting of the lamp. The Chief guest, addressed
the gathering and shared his valuable thoughts and experiences and gave an insight about current
oppurtunitie. Graduating students were awarded by the Chief guest. Later everyone proceded for
lunch and the function was a great success
