THERMODYNAMICS1

Course Description:

Laws of thermodynamics; energy and property relationships; ideal gas laws; the concept of
thermodynamic processes as applied to ideal gases.

Number of Units : 3 units


Number of Hours per Week : 3 hours lecture per week
Prerequisites : Math 71 & Physics 31&31.1/ Math070&
Physics 063 &Physics 064
Course Objectives:

*To learn the laws of thermodynamics


* To be able to identify thermodynamic systems

Course Outcomes:

The student is expected:

 To demonstrate his ability to apply the laws of thermodynamics in the analysis of


thermodynamic systems.

 To have the ability to understand the relation of thermodynamic system to its


environment.

E. Passing grade point: 60 = 3.0
F. Condition for INC grade: 1 exam missed, provided further that the class standing is passing at
the end of the term.
