Freedom from the Law/Flesh & Freedom to Live in the Spirit (Additional)
Take time to look at the checklist to see if you are living by the
Participant's Response
Law or living by the grace and freedom of the Spirit of God.
Are you focused on keeping the law so that you may gain the
approval and love of God or are you resting on the finished
work of Christ trusting that God accepts and loves you
unconditionally in Christ?
Are you striving to perform ministry activities because you are
‘required’ to do it or because you love God and want to give
Him glory by finishing His work?
Do you feel like you need to cry hard and suffer much before
God can forgive you or are you trusting in the atonement of
Christ on the cross for your forgiveness and cleansing before
God?
Do you rely on your own performance and righteousness for
your access into the presence of God or do you trust in the
righteousness of Jesus imputed on you as the basis of your
acceptance before God?
Do you feel like you cannot do enough to please God or are
your confident that God loves and accepts you in Christ no
matter how you perform?
Are you focused on ‘do’s and don’ts’ and the ‘rules and
regulations’ or are you depending on the Holy Spirit’s leading,
guidance and empowerment to do God’s will?
Do you feel like God is so far away from you when you sin and
near you when you perform well in your ministry activities?
Are you focused on ‘doing the ministry’ rather than working in
partnership with God’s Spirit?
Is your work produced by FAITH, is your labor prompted by
LOVE and your endurance inspired by HOPE, or is it motivated
by selfish motives?
Are you trying to earn God’s favor or are you secured in God’s
favor on you because of your union with Christ?
Is your life ‘Law-based’ or ‘relationship-based’
Do you depend on your own wisdom to know and do what you
think is right or are you depending on the Holy Spirit to guide
you in God’s will?
Are you living in the flesh or are you living by the Spirit?
