Project Status Report: Anamaduwa Water Tower

1. Project Progress: The completed progress stands at 88%.

2. Importance of Completion: It is crucial to emphasize that without the completion of the water
tower, the commencement of water supply to the Anamaduwa Distribution Zone is not feasible. The
successful functioning of the distribution network relies heavily on the timely completion of the water
tower.

3. Corrosion Concerns: An additional concern has come to our attention regarding the exposed
reinforcement of the half-completed structure. This has led to signs of corrosion, posing potential
risks to the structural integrity of the water tower. Addressing this issue promptly is imperative to
ensure the longevity and safety of the entire infrastructure.

4. Recommendations for Timely Completion: Considering the interconnected nature of these issues,
it is highly advisable to expedite the remaining construction works on the Anamaduwa Water Tower.
This will not only accelerate the supply of water to the distribution zone but also mitigate the
corrosion risks associated with the exposed reinforcement.

5. Tentative Estimated Cost: The tentative estimated cost for completing the remaining balance of
the Mahakumbukkadawala Water Tower project is approximately 152 Million (Including 600m3
ground sump).
Conclusion: In conclusion, it is imperative to address the concerns mentioned earlier to ensure the
Anamaduwa Water Tower project is completed successfully and within the set timeframe. It is
recommended to adopt a proactive approach to not only meet the planned initiation of water supply to
the Anamaduwa Distribution Zone but also to uphold the structural integrity of the infrastructure.
Although this aspect is accounted for in the procurement plan, it is essential to take immediate and
serious actions to expedite the project and make necessary preparations for the bidding procedure.
