MARKET REDEVELOPMENT

METHODOLOGY : The study aims to describe and analyze the facts and analysis of data on
circulation, zoning and social character of streets at traditional markets.
Research method is a qualitative case study method. This methods intends to understand the
study of phenomena such as perception, motivation and behaviour, using different methods to
explain in words and phrases in a given situation. Therefore, qualitative method is preferred to
explore the researcher’s ability to focus on the research question and the problems studied.
It includes strategy of inquiry which consists of qualitative methods of inquiry to collect and
analyze the data. Initially I selected a market in Dibrugarh town due to better understanding of
spatial design of Assam streets in terms of specific parameters.
