- Check key and key locks for release cabinets and CO2 room. Key locks must be easy to
unlock. Lubricate it if necessary.

- Check that the sealing wire on hand-operated top valve on pilot cylinder (inside release
cabinet) is intact. Check all releasing controls (pilot cylinder top valve and release ball
valves) are in the closed position and readily accessible for immediate use.

- Check that pressure gauge in release cabinet show no reading. If pressure is indicated, it
means leakage from pilot cylinder top valve or slow leak valve not functioning. Use soap on
slow leak valve to check if any leaks. If leaks, slow leak valve functioning and pilot cylinder
top valve is leaking. If no leaks from slow leak valve and no reading on pressure gauge, the
release cabinet is OK.

- Check that all stop valves are in the closed position.

- Check that all discharge piping and pilot tubes is intact and has not been damaged.

- Check that all CO2 cylinders are in place and properly secured.

- Check bursting disc indicators on CO2 cylinders and pilot cylinders top valves. If green disc
has been thrown off, the contents in that cylinder must be checked.

- Check that pressure gauge on manifold shows no pressure. If pressure, possible cylinder top
valve leakage and contents must be checked.

- Check that alarm devices in protected spaces are in place and do not appear damaged.

EVERY SECOND MONTH AND AFTER DRY DOCKING

In addition to the monthly inspection procedure following above steps, every 60 days a functional
test for the alarm devices will be implemented from release station and distribution valves in CO2
room.

Release station:
Open release cabinet door to check that the micro switch activates CO2 alarm and ventilation
shut down.

CO2 Room:
Open manually all distribution main valves 3 to 4 times to make sure they open smoothly.
Check that micro switch on main valve activates CO2 alarm and ventilation shut down.
Check that all valves are left in closed position.

ANNUAL

- Cylinders should be visually inspected for any signs of damage, rust or loose mounting
hardware.

- The manifold should be inspected to verify that all flexible hoses and fittings are properly
tightened. Check that flexible hoses are not twisted or have unnecessary low bending
radius due to incorrect distance between top valves and between manifold and top valves.
Flexible hoses should not touch sharp edges.
Yard No. Drwg. No.

- System piping should be visually inspected to check for damage, loose support and
corrosion. Nozzles should be inspected to ensure they have not been obstructed by the
storage of spare parts or a new installation of structure or machinery.

- The boundaries of the protected spaces should be visually inspected to confirm that no
modifications have been made to the enclosure that have created uncloseable openings
that would render the system ineffective.

- All entrance doors to the protected space should close properly and should have warning
signs, which indicated that the space is protected by fixed CO2 system and that personal
should evacuate immediately if the alarms sound.

- Releasing control cabinets should be checked for signs and operating instructions.

EVERY TWO YEARS

The following procedures should be implemented every 2 years or at each renewal survey, and
must be conducted by authorized personnel.

- Check of content in CO2 cylinders and pilot cylinders in release cabinets. The contents is to
be checked by a proper weighing scale or by a liquid level indicator. If a cylinder shows a
net loss of more than 10%, it shall be refilled.

- The discharge piping and nozzles in protected spaces should be tested to verify that they are
not blocked. This will be performed by isolating the discharge piping from the system and
flowing dry air or nitrogen gas at a pressure of 6~10 bar.

- Leakage test for pilot lines from all release stations under working pressure of (60 bar). This
must be performed with pilot lines disconnected from CO2 cylinder valves and main valves
to avoid activate the cylinder valves and main valves.

- Inside release cabinets, open and close release ball valves 3 times for checking of smooth
operation and not be stucked. Then check release controls, pilot cylinder top valves and
release ball valves for leakage. Check all slow leak valves for proper functioning, by
simulate leakage from pilot cylinder or test cylinder. Slow leak valves should leak and
then close when applying full pressure. All of this must be done with pilot lines
disconnected from release cabinets. Function check the time setting for time delay and all
controls and warning devices.

- All cable components should be cleaned and adjusted as necessary, and the cable
connectors should be properly tightened.

- After completion of the work, the system should be returned to service condition. All
releasing controls should be verified in the proper position and connected to the correct
Cylinder valves and Main valves. All Micro- and Pressure switch interlocks should be reset
and returned to service condition. All stop valve should be in closed position.
