SWRDO Annual Report provides an overview of the work of
the Sangtani Women Rural development Organization
(SWRDO) from Jan 2020 to June 2021. A part from this financial
statistics are provided of all SWRDO partners organizations
which have been provided while the year 2020-2021.
About SWRDO
Sangtani Women Rural Development Organization (SWRDO) is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious,
and non-government organization struggling to provide a peaceful environment to all human beings where they can
utilize their potentials for sustainable development. It involves the general public, organizations, and individuals and
operates without discrimination on the basis of religion, race, color, nationality, and ethnicity. The organization has
two main sections, which works in close coordination for sustainable development, SWRDO registered under the
Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Act 1961 with Social Welfare Dept on September 1997 and the Registration
Number: DDSW (DGK) 97 / 181 of 1997. The Federal Government of Pakistan introduced a new law “Punjab Charity
Commission Act 2018” for the registration of the charity organization. According to the new law SWRDO re-
registered under Punjab Charity Commission Act 2018 with the Government of Punjab Pakistan on 06-Nov-2020
with Registration No. PB-RJP-4540113479948254.
SWRDO is working for the promotion of human rights, quality education, WASH, health services, rehabilitation of
marginalized and poor families through capacity building, research, awareness-raising, advocacy, and service delivery
in different districts of Southern Punjab and Sindh
SWRDO is a tax exempted and certified organization from Pakistan Center for Philanthropist (PCP).
SWRDO signed an MoU with Economic Affairs Divisions (EAD), Federal Government of Pakistan for
the implementation of foreign-funded projects. SWRDO has rich experience of implementing foreign-funded projects
in Punjab and Sindh province of Pakistan. SWRDO has effective and functional liaison and coordination with the
Provincial and District Administration of both mentioned provinces.

Project Name: Big Push for Rural Economy – Agriculture

Project Objective:
The objective of BPRE Agriculture is to train the rural farmers on best practices for Wheat and Cotton
crops and build their capacity by narrowing the disparity between practices. The intervention is unique in
its aim to offer a menu of context-relevant trainings throughout the value chain.

Project Output:

 1800 farmers of wheat crop are trained in the trade of “Wheat and General Agriculture
Training” 05 month training course
 80 farmers of wheat crop are trained in the trade of “Farm Machinery Mechanic” and received
03 month diploma certificate from recognized board “Punjab Board of Technical Education
(PBTE)”.
 40 farmers of wheat crop are trained in the trade of Electrician and received 03 month diploma
certificate from recognized Board “Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE)
 All the training are conducted by trade expert master trainers
 All the trainee received PKR1500/- per month stipend

Project Objective:
The objective of this program is to transform cotton production in District Rajanpur by developing Better
Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity. The Better Cotton Initiative exists to make cotton
production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for
the sector’s future.

Project Output / Result:


 Formed 500 farmers learning groups
in Rajanpur district comprising on
14113 farmers in 2020-2021.

Project Objective

The main goal of this project is to provide assistance for the immediate need of the targeted area. It
includes the provision of WASH facilities like installation of Shallow Hand pump, installation of Water
Well, Construction of toilet, and Women Empowerment through the provision of income generation
opportunities, financial support of orphan, and construction of the mosque, social protection, and
capacity building training in different fields of protection sector for women rights.
 To ensure that marginalized population has adequate access to safe drinking water with dignity,
and knowledge of best hygienic practices to reduce the risk of water and sanitation borne
diseases.”
 To reduce poverty and inequality by generating household level business opportunities among
poor rural women’s livestock farmers households and by moving highly vulnerable households
into sustainable livelihoods and toward economic stability.
 Provide financial support to orphans and vulnerable children so as to enable them to live a normal
life like other children in the country.
 Eliminate harmful practice including all forms of violence against women and girls for the
protection of fundamental rights

Outcomes / Results
 In District Rajanpur, 1750 families
of 12250 individuals have access to
safe water for drinking with dignity
through the Installation of 500
Shallow hand pumps and 50
Afridave Deep-Bore Water Wells
 Two milking goats with kids will be
provided to each rural women
farmer for the improvement of
livelihood and a total of 100 Rural
Women farmers of District
Rajanpur will receive this assistance
package.
 Through financial assistance, 200
orphans of District Rajanpur will
receive monthly cash support for
the covering of basic needs and
education expenses.
 In District Rajanpur150 young
volunteers male and female will be
capacitated for the protection of
women's rights and promotion of
gender equality and EVAW.
