09 BONUS TIP
01. Read the Question Slowly
This is a very important step that I have to put it on the
first of list, most of the time we try to read questions at a
fast pace, and as a result we have to re-read questions again
and again . Please note you have 230 Minutes in
#PMPexam. Time management is the key. I recommend
giving 80 Minutes to the first 60 question, then 10-minute
breaks, 75 minutes to next 60 questions, and then 10 breaks,
then last 75 minutes to the last 60 Questions

• Time management can only be maintained if you slow down

your brain to find and try to understand the context of the
question. When you slow down your brain will start looking for
reasons to slow down and you will be able to Focus

This needs practice practice and patience. Try is from today

STEPS
FORMULA TO SOLVE PMP
QUESTIONS
02. Read the Last Line first

This is most effective when you have a question with more than
3 lines; most of the time question is actually in the last line.
This can help you save time when you are running out of time.

Most of the time, the last line is something like this, What
would the project manager
do next?
Should have done?
How can this be avoided?
Issue has occurred
Best way
Which plan to update?
Which document to update
This helps you to master the question in a better way.

Practice is needed to make it a habit

03. Identify the keywords

If you can identify the keywords correctly. The question is

yours. Some keywords are lik

Risk has occurred, Issue has occurred

An unidentified event has occurred
A stakeholder is added, and a new stakeholder isidentified
You want to communicate
The project is closed/ canceled
Deliverable is rejected
You are reviewing the project
Change has been raised/ Approved

And many more, I will add a new list of keywords in

someother booklet, but you need to identify it and you will be
able to solve questions better.
04. Identify context of Qs
/process group?
Knowing the context of the question and mastering where
you are in a particular process group can help you to solve
questions in a better way. These are some tips to know
where you are

• Initiation – Only the project charter, assumption log, and

stakeholder register are made

• Planning – All the plans are made in this process and most of
the document, this step is all about HOW to do something not
done.

• Execution- Work is being done in this process group, issues

are generated, the team comes here, conflicts happen, and
communication occurs. Everything is done in the process. If the
quesiton indicate happening you are here
• Monitoring and control – Variance analysis, you are
comparing the plan to the actual and raising change request,
deliverables are verified and accepted here

• Closing – Project is ending, document and Lesson learned,

Final report team realize

05. Identify and Select Life
cycle

• In 2022, PMP exam has been dominated by agile process

group. However, according to PMP Exam content outline, It
should be 50% predictive and 50% hybrid. This mean it can
change any day. It is important to know the differences and
use of all life cycle.

• Predictive- Scope is fixed, and Delivery is single. Risk is less,

project are known and less uncertain, to raise change request
needs approval, make plan for everything example – a
construction project.

• Iterative – Single delivery; however, scope can be added or

removed at any time Example prototype.
• Incremental – Delivery in part, the scope is fixed, for
example, E-learning, Series

• Agile – Delivery can be part, scope is adjustable, the

customer is king, the team is selforganized, make progress
visible, use information radiator, example- software

• Hybrid – Can be a combination of any two

• Please note in #PMP exam if you cannot find the word
agile or predictive written, assume its a hybrid question.

06. Understand the Role in
Context
After you’ve identified the keyword, derived the lifecycle in
question and realized the context of question, DETERMINE
whose responsibility would it to be perform the duty asked. For
example, following are 4 critical roles associated with
performing high level project management duties in
PREDICTIVE ENVIRONMENT

1) Project Sponsor – Determines the budget, approves

the project charter and signs off the project.
2) Project Manager – Determines the methodology used,
resolves conflicts, negotiates with various project
stakeholders and facilitates and integrates the overall
project work
3) Change Control Board – Committee responsible for
formally approving or rejecting the change requested.
4) Project Team - Contributes to overall project
objectives, provides expertise, documents the process
We have the following ROLES in AGILE
ENVIRONMENT.
1) Scrum Master/ Servant leader - Works to fulfill the

needs of the teams, projects, and organization. Servant

leaders facilitate, coach, and removes impediments for

the development team.

2) Product Owner: Also known as the voice of customer,

works with stakeholders, customers, and the teams to

define the product direction. Responsible for creating

the product backlog.

3) Cross Functional Team: Team members with all the

skills necessary to produce a working product

07. Use Elimination
Technquie to Solve PMP
Question

• If you don’t do what I have shared in the first 5 Steps, follow

this step religiously. You will get 80% of question right
(Provided that you have mater PMP material)
• What is the Elimination technique? You must have a
justification of each and every step of the question.
• Lets say you go to option A and you feel option A is the right
answer, you must justify it in your mind with WHY? This is the
right answer, but don’t select it. Mark it, go to the next option.
Now option B seems as wrong option, you must justify why you
think it is the wrong Option. Now option C again seems as right
option you must justify why it seems as a right option and mark
it. Now option D may seem wrong again. Justify why its wrong.
• Now this is normal PMP scenario you are left with two

options ( Please note, it is possible you may have selected

option A and moved forward. This is against the principle of

Elimination techniques. You must go to each and every

option. Never rush)

• Now two options use same techqnuie justify which option

makes more sense, go for it.

PRO TIP
Identify Root cause – Lesson Learned
after solving Question
• Now you have solved the question, Should you move to next
mock? NO!
• Otherwise, you will make the same mistakes again and again.
Please stop here!
• Identify what you did wrong and why you did it wrong.
What did you learn from this particular question?
• Use an excel file as a lesson learned template and review
your lesson learned to find out which topics you are getting the
most question wrong and improve it. Keep doing it and you
will be PMP.
• Please note this is the considered as most important step by
a certified PMP.
