SAP Datasphere – Learning - Data

Models in Data Builder – Replication

Flow
What can we learn?

• 3 layered Architecture in SAP Datasphere

• Introduction to Data builder and business
builder.
• Position of Replication flow in the data
builder.
• How to build a Replication flow from the
source to the datasphere in data builder.
• Monitor of the replication flow

Data Layer of
Datasphere:

1. Data Builder
2. Business Builder
The SAP Datasphere Data Layer contains the basic modeling of the underlying data sources
and tables.

The related set of tools is available in the SAP Datasphere Data Builder.
Here, developers and modelers use tables, views and intelligent lookups to combine, clean,
and prepare data. Views can be exposed directly to SAP Analytics Cloud and other analytics
clients.

The SAP Datasphere Business Layer allows users to create their own business models on
top based on business terms. The related set of tools is provided by the SAP Datasphere
Business Builder.
Data Builder Artifacts:

• Create views and tables to prepare

data for your stories
• Use entity-relationship models to
visualize and make associations
between artifacts.

1. Select Source Connection- Source

system
2. Select Container- Folder from
which we have to take the table
3. Select Source Objects- The table

Data Builder – New Replication Flow
Select the tables you want to replicate
from the source to the datasphere from
the list

Eg: Business partner table

Data Builder – New Replication Flow
Types of Load from source to datasphere:

1. Initial Only (Full Load)

2. Initial + Delta
3. Truncate during load
Data Builder – New Replication Flow
Add Projection to flow Data:

• Mapping can be done from source to

target
• Filter can be done on data
• Edit the descriptions in the mapping

The replicated table can be seen in the Data
builder tables section for consumption

Check the table data replicated from the
source to Datasphere
Data Builder – New Replication Flow
You can set delta load also and delta can
be done every 60 mins.

Setting: Initial + Delta Load

Looks , This set up for delta needs proper

authorizations and was not able to set up
completely

The replication task created can be edited
or deleted from the initial screen of the
data builder
Replication Flow – Quick Summary of steps

1. Add a Source
2. Add a Target
3. Configure Your Replication Flow
4. Define Filters
5. Define Mapping
6. Using a Cloud Storage as the
Target
7. Editing an Existing Replication
Flow
8. Deleting a Replication Flow
