1.Artificial Intelligence

Introduction:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that involves the


development of intelligent machines that can simulate human intelligence. These
machines are designed to perform tasks that typically require human-like cognitive
abilities, including learning, problem-solving, reasoning, perception, understanding
natural language, and decision-making.

AI systems aim to replicate certain aspects of human intelligence by using algorithms, data,
and computational power. These systems can analyze massive amounts of data, identify
patterns, learn from experiences, and make predictions or decisions based on that
information.
1.1 Machine Learning (ML):
• Machine learning is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) that focuses on the
development of algorithms and models that enable computers to learn from and make
predictions or decisions based on data.
• The basic idea behind machine learning is to allow computers to improve their
performance on a specific task over time without being explicitly programmed for that task.
• Instead of being explicitly programmed to perform a task, a machine learning system
uses statistical techniques to automatically learn patterns and relationships within a dataset.
Machine learning is often categorized into three main types:

1. Supervised Learning: In supervised learning, the algorithm is trained on a labeled


dataset, where each input is associated with a corresponding output. The goal is to learn a
mapping from inputs to outputs so that the algorithm can make predictions on new, unseen
data.

2. Unsupervised Learning: Unsupervised learning involves working with unlabeled data,
and the algorithm tries to find patterns or relationships within the data without explicit
guidance. Clustering and dimensionality reduction are common tasks in unsupervised
learning.
3.Reinforcement Learning: Reinforcement learning is a type of learning where an agent
learns how to behave in an environment by performing actions and receiving rewards or
penalties. The agent aims to learn a strategy or policy that maximizes the cumulative reward
over time.

1.2 Natural Language Processing (NLP):

● Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a subfield of artificial intelligence (AI) that focuses
on the interaction between computers and humans using natural language.
● The ultimate goal of NLP is to enable computers to understand, interpret, and generate
human language in a way that is both meaningful and contextually relevant.
● NLP involves a combination of computational linguistics, computer science, and machine
learning.

1.3 Robotics:

● AI plays a vital role in robotics, allowing machines to perceive their environment, make
decisions, and perform tasks autonomously.
● Robotics is a multidisciplinary field that involves the design, construction, operation, and use
of robots.
● A robot is a machine or an autonomous system that can carry out tasks autonomously or
semi-autonomously, often in response to sensory input or pre-programmed instructions.
● Robotics combines elements of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer
science, and other fields to create machines that can perform a wide range of tasks.

2. CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORKS

Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs or ConvNets) are a category of neural networks


that have proven to be highly effective in areas such as image recognition and computer vision.
They are designed to automatically and adaptively learn spatial hierarchies of features from
input data.

The key mediccal feature of CNNs is the use of convolutional layers. Here are some
important components and concepts associated with Convolutional Neural Networks:

1. Convolutional Layers: These layers apply convolution operations to the input data.
Convolution involves sliding a filter (also known as a kernel) over the input data to perform
local operations, capturing spatial hierarchies of features. This operation helps the network
recognize patterns and features in different parts of the input.
2. Filters and Kernels: Filters are small, learnable matrices that are applied to input data.
Kernels are sets of filters. The convolutional operation involves element-wise multiplication
of the filter values with the input values, followed by summation, and then passing the result
through an activation function. Filters are responsible for detecting specific features like
edges, textures, or more complex patterns in higher layers.
3.Pooling (Subsampling) Layers: Pooling layers are often used in conjunction with
convolutional layers to reduce the spatial dimensions of the input. Max pooling, for example,
takes the maximum value from a group of values, effectively downsampling the input and
retaining the most important features.

4.Activation Functions: Common activation functions used in CNNs include Rectified Linear
Unit (ReLU), which introduces non-linearity to the network, helping it learn complex patterns.
5.Fully Connected Layers: In addition to convolutional and pooling layers, CNNs often
include fully connected layers, which connect every neuron in one layer to every neuron in
the next layer. These layers are typically found towards the end of the network and are
responsible for making predictions based on the learned features.

Convolutional Neural Networks are particularly effective for tasks involving grid-like data, such

as images. Their ability to automatically learn hierarchical representations of features makes them

well-suited for image classification, object detection, and other computer vision tasks. CNNs have

played a significant role in the success of deep learning in image-related applications and have been

extended to other domains, such as natural language processing.

Libraries used in CNN:

● TensorFlow:

Description: Developed by Google Brain, TensorFlow is a popular open-source library for


machine learning and deep learning. It offers robust support for building CNN architectures and
performing operations efficiently on GPUs and TPUs.
● PyTorch:

Description: Created by Facebook's AI Research lab, PyTorch is known for its dynamic
computation graph and is widely used in academia and industry. It offers flexibility and ease of
debugging while working with CNNs.

● Keras:
Description: Initially separate but now part of TensorFlow, Keras is a high-level
neural networks API that allows for rapid experimentation and prototyping of CNNs. It
provides a user-friendly interface for building models without dealing with low-level details.

3. YOU ONLY LOOK ONCE(YOLO)
YOLO (You Only Look Once) is an object detection algorithm known for its speed
and accuracy in real-time object detection tasks. Developed by Joseph Redmon and Ali
Farhadi, YOLO processes images in a single pass through the neural network, enabling fast
and efficient detection of objects. YOLO divides an input image into a grid and predicts
bounding boxes and class probabilities directly from the grid cells.

Key features and concepts of YOLO:

1. Single Shot Detection: YOLO is a single-shot detection algorithm, meaning it processes


the entire image in a single forward pass through the neural network. This is in contrast to
some other object detection methods that might use multiple stages or region proposals.
2. Grid Cell Structure: The input image is divided into a grid, and each grid cell is
responsible for predicting bounding boxes and class probabilities. This grid-based approach
allows YOLO to efficiently handle multiple objects in the same image.
3. Bounding Box Prediction: For each grid cell, YOLO predicts multiple bounding boxes
along with confidence scores and class probabilities. Each bounding box is associated with
a specific class label.
4. Anchor Boxes: YOLO uses anchor boxes to improve the accuracy of bounding box
predictions. Anchor boxes are predefined boxes of different sizes and aspect ratios, and
the algorithm adjusts these anchors during training to better fit the actual objects in the data.
5. Loss Function: The YOLO loss function combines the localization loss (related to the
accuracy of bounding box predictions), confidence loss (related to the confidence scores
of predicted boxes), and classification loss (related to the accuracy of class predictions).

Versions: YOLO has gone through several versions, with each version introducing
improvements in terms of accuracy and speed. YOLOv2, YOLOv3, and subsequent

Applications:

4. ROBOFLOW

Roboflow is a platform designed to streamline and simplify the process of


preparing, managing, and augmenting image datasets for computer vision projects. It offers a
suite of tools and features that cater to developers, researchers, and teams working on machine
learning and AI projects involving image data. The platform's primary focus is on easing the
challenges associated with handling image datasets for training various computer vision
models.

Dataset Selection:

We can select the dataset that we require for our project or model training by following the

below steps:

● Open the Roboflow website using the below link: https://roboflow.com/

● Next if you are not signed in or don't have an account create it by clicking the sign in opt

● Once you get signed in and select the suitable plan and click the create the workspace button,
you can see the workspace area as shown in the below figure.

● Now click on the universe button and you can search for the dataset that suits your model training.

● Now you can download the dataset and you can train your model.

Working on Roboflow:

5. BONE FRACTURE DETECTION using AI


Bone fracture detection refers to the process of identifying and locating fractures or breaks in
bones within medical images, often obtained through X-rays, CT scans, or other medical
imaging modalities. This task is vital in the field of orthopedics and plays a significant role in
the diagnosis and treatment of bone-related injuries. Detecting and analyzing fractures
accurately is crucial for orthopedic surgeons and clinicians to make informed decisions about
appropriate treatment plans and to monitor the healing progress of fractures.

Background:

Bone fracture detection using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) is a pivotal application in
the realm of medical image analysis. Diagnostic imaging techniques such as X-rays and CT scans
are routinely employed to visualize and assess bone integrity. Traditional methods of identifying
fractures involve manual inspection by radiologists, which can be time-consuming and susceptible
to human error. Leveraging computer vision and deep learning, especially CNNs, can
revolutionize this process by automating fracture detection and enhancing the efficiency and
accuracy of diagnostic procedures.

Project Objective:

The main objective of Bone fracture detection using Convolutional Neural Networks
(CNNs)is to automate the process of identifying and classifying Bone fracture in medical
images.

Selecting Dataset:

For selecting dataset go to the roboflow website and get signed into it and click the universe
option and under that option click the medical section and in that we can select the dataset
called Bone fracture detection. As shown in below figure.

Connecting and installing required libraries:

After downloading the dataset, we can import the model to the google colab and here we
trainour model.

● Now in google colab to check that our model is connected to the GPU we will run the

below code.

● After that we will install the YOLOV8 model to train our model. For installing the
YOLOV8 we will use the below code.

Exporting the Dataset:

● Now for training our model we will export the dataset into google colab.

● The below code is required to export the dataset.

● By running the above code we get the output as below:

Custom Training:

Choose an appropriate object detection model medical and train the model using the
annotated dataset to accurately identify Bone fracture.

● We will train the model using epochs = 25, it will take some time to train the model and after
training the model for up to 25 epochs we get the train number that we furtherly use in our training.

● The below is the code for custom training of the dataset for our model.

● Next, we get the output as following for the code.

● The trained model is now saved into the following location: runs/detect/train.

● We can download the best trained dataset from that location for further use.

Inference with custom model:

Performing inference with a custom object detection model involves using the trained
model to make predictions on new, unseen data.

● We will use below code to inference the model.

● It is important to note that we should change the train number that we get from custom
training into this code and after changing and running the code we get the predict value that is
where our trained model is going to be saved.

● We got the predict that our results have been saved in that location. Now we place this predict
in the next step.

Result:

Now for getting the output we will run the following code and by replacing the predict value and
now after running the code we can see the object detection i.e. it will detect the cells types like
platelets, bone fracture.

● The below code is used to detect the. type of cells in our body.

6. Telegram Integration

Integrating object detection with Telegram allows you to create a bot that can receive
images from users, perform object detection on those images using a custom model, and send
back the results. Here is an outline of how you might integrate object detection with Telegram:

Steps for Telegram Integration with Object Detection:

1. Setup a Telegram Bot:

Create a Telegram Bot using the Bot Father on Telegram. Follow the Bot Father’s
instructions to obtain the bot token.

2. Create a Python Application:

Use Python and Telegram Bot API (such as python-telegram-bot) to develop an application
that interacts with your Telegram bot.

3. Implement Object Detection Logic:

Integrate your custom object detection model (previously trained) into your Python application.
Use the model to perform inference on the received images.
● Now we will download the best trained dataset from previous code and mount the
drive to get the path of the dataset.
● Place the bot token of the created bot into that code and run every cell in the code
to get the result.

In the below code we have imported the necessary libraries for telegram integration.

4. Telegram Bot Functionality:

Define functionalities for your Telegram bot, such as handling user messages, receiving images,
processing images, performing object detection, and sending back the results.

a. The Telegram bot receives an image from a user.

b. Preprocess the received image for object detection (resize, normalize, etc.).

c. Use the custom object detection model to predict objects in the image.

Suppression (NMS)).

e. Create a response message with the detected objects (bounding boxes, labels, etc.).

f. Send the response message with the detected objects back to the user via the Telegram bot.
