Ole Kirk Christiansen was a poor carpenter from Denmark who started a business making stepladders,
ironing boards and wooden toys with his son Godtfred in 1932. The wooden toys quickly became the

Nowadays we play jokes on people on April 1st. For example, someone might put salt in the sugar
container so another person could "accidentally" put it in their coffee. Or someone might change the

planned. After we play the trick, we say "April Fool." Then the poor person realizes he was fooled. It

People often ask which is the most difficult language to learn, and it is not easy to answer because
there are many factors to take into consideration. Firstly, in a first language the differences are

A native speaker of Spanish, for example, will find Portuguese much easier to learn than a native
speaker of Chinese, for example, because Portuguese is very similar to Spanish, while Chinese is very

the second language and our first, the harder it will be for most people to learn.
No language is easy to learn well, though languages which are related to our first language are easier.

Today, many people want to learn or improve their English but it is difficult to find the best method. Is
it better to study in Britain or to study in your own country? The advantages of going to Britain seem
obvious. Firstly, you will be able to listen to the language all the time you are in the country. You will
be surrounded completely by the language wherever you go. Another advantage is that you have to
speak the language if you are with other people. In Romania, it is always possible, in the class, to
speak Romanian if you want to and the learning is slower. On the other hand, there are also advantages
to staying at home to study. You don't have to make big changes to your life. As well as this, it is also
a lot cheaper than going to Britain but it is never possible to achieve the results of living in the UK. If
you have a good teacher in Romania, I think you can learn in a more concentrated way than being in
Britain without going to a school.

In 1519 when he invaded Mexico, Cortes first saw popcorn when he met the Aztecs. Popcorn was

Iroquois who used heated sand in a pottery vessel to make popcorn. There is an unproven theory that

October 15, 1621. Colonial housewives served popcorn with sugar and cream for breakfast. Some

Members of the rhinoceros family are characterized by their large size (reaching one tonne in weight)

mammals this size and a large horn. Rhinoceros are killed by humans for their horns, which are bought
and sold on the black market and which are used by some cultures for ornamental or traditional
medicinal purposes. East Asia is the largest market for rhino horns. By weight, rhino horns cost as
much as gold on the black market. People grind up the horns and then consume them believing the
dust has therapeutic properties. The horns are made of keratin, the same type of protein that makes up
hair and fingernails. Both African species have two horns, while the Indian rhinoceros have a single
horn.
