Dean of Students and Learning Support Coordinator: Preliminary Tasks breakdown

Task Notes
 Ensure that the school’s ethos is maintained and adhered to outside the teaching timetable; 
 Supervise pastoral heads, boarding master & mistress, matron, nurses, chef ;  Need their JDs
 Oversee all aspects of students’ life: create a safe, supportive and engaging experience for all students;  Chat with students to understand their academic and social
(boarding life) needs and wants
 Serve as a liaison between the boarding, pastoral and academic programs;  Gain an understanding of this dynamic
 Ensure that all students have the support and resources they need to succeed both academically and 
socially;

 Train subject teachers, teach and support students with varying degrees of needs  Understand current and previous identified PD needs
amongst (subject) teachers; see what PD has been provided
in the past; create a PD document for each teacher.

1. LEADERSHIP  Familiarize myself with organization Vision, Mission, Core
 Serve as a member of the senior leadership team and collaborate with other departments to ensure a Values and Strategic Plan

 Participate in institutional planning and strategic initiatives in Academics and Pastoral.

2. ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT  Meet with the principal to understand current situation
 Assist the Principal with promoting quality teaching learning and assessment in the school. regarding teaching and learning, and identified PD needs;
 Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the student community. plan a PD programme based on that.

3. STAFF MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT  Understand current recruitment status and protocols.
 In conjunction with the Principal and HR, contribute to the recruitment of Staff at different levels Familiarize self with interview protocol
