Today's web-based technology offers many online services in almost every field. Every
major industry is converting and establishing a digital front for all their major operations to get
closer to the booming digital market. In today's world, the information flow is very fast, and
redundant means won't add to the betterment of the individual or the organization that's using them.
Online connectivity is now a must for all well-organized and well-managed establishments. One
such field is Healthcare where the digitization of information should happen rapidly and
efficiently.
The pharmacy management system is a crucial component in modern healthcare delivery. With
the advancement of technology, web-based pharmacy management systems have become
increasingly popular due to their ability to provide easy access to information and streamline
pharmacy operations. This paper presents an overview of a web-based pharmacy management
system that can help pharmacists and staff in their day-to-day activities.
In conclusion, a web-based pharmacy management system is a powerful tool for improving the
efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacy operations. It enables pharmacists and staff to manage
their daily tasks easily and effectively, while also providing access to important information from
anywhere, anytime. The system's user-friendly interface and powerful features make it an essential
tool for modern pharmacy management.
I feel great pleasure in expressing my deepest sense of gratitude and sincere thanks to my
guide Prof. A. S. Shinde for their valuable guidance during the Mini Project work, without which
it would have been a very difficult task. I have no words to express my sincere thanks for the
valuable guidance, extreme assistance, and cooperation extended to all the Staff Members of my
Department.
This acknowledgment would be incomplete without expressing my special thanks to Head
of the Department (Information Technology) Dr. S. R. Ganorkar for their support during the
work.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my Principal, Dr. S. D. Lokhande who
provided a lot of valuable support, mostly behind the veils of college bureaucracy.
Last but not least I would like to thank all the Teaching, Non- Teaching staff members of
my Branch, and my colleagues who helped me successfully complete this Mini Project.
A pharmacy management system is a software application that helps manage the day-to-
day operations of a pharmacy. The system is designed to streamline the pharmacy's workflow and
automate routine tasks such as inventory management, prescription processing, and billing. When
it comes to using web technology, a web-based pharmacy management system allows pharmacists
and staff to access and manage the system from any device with an internet connection. This means
that users can access the system from anywhere, making it easier to manage multiple locations or
remote work.
Prescription Management The system allows pharmacists to easily manage and process
prescriptions, including tracking patient information, prescription history, and refills Inventory
Management: The system helps pharmacies manage their inventory by tracking stock levels,
expiration dates, and reorder points. Billing and Insurance Management The system allows
pharmacies to easily manage billing and insurance claims, including processing payments,
submitting claims, and managing rejections. Reporting and Analytics The system provides robust
reporting and analytics tools to help pharmacies track key metrics such as sales, inventory levels,
and customer behavior. The system offers various features such as prescription management,
inventory management, billing, and insurance management. The prescription management module
allows pharmacists to process prescriptions, and track patient information, prescription history,
and refills. The inventory management module tracks stock levels, expiration dates, and reorder
points. The billing and insurance management module helps pharmacies manage billing and
insurance claims, including processing payments, submitting claims, and managing rejections.
A pharmacy website project involves designing and developing a website that provides
information about the pharmacy and the services it offers. this project is a web application for a
pharmacy company called "PharmEasy". The application includes functionality for user
registration and login, as well as a feature for displaying and ordering prescription drugs. The
application allows users to create an account with their email address, name, and address, and then
login to view and order prescription drugs. The website is built using PHP and MySQL for server-
side scripting and database management, and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front-end
interface.
➢ Add products to the cart: This functionality allows users to add products to their shopping
cart.
➢ Update user address: This functionality enables users to update their address information.
➢ Log in: This functionality allows users to log into their accounts on the website.
All of these functionalities are common features in e-commerce websites, and they are essential
for creating a seamless shopping experience for users. By allowing users to add products to their
cart, update their address information, and log in to their accounts, your pharmacy website will be
able to provide users with a convenient and personalized experience.
Overall, the goal of a pharmacy website project is to create an online presence for the pharmacy
that helps attract new customers, provide convenient services to existing customers, and ultimately
grow the business.
3.1 Description
The system consists of several modules, including medication dispensing, inventory management,
customer management, and reporting and analytics. The medication dispensing module enables
pharmacists to quickly check drug interactions and allergies, reduce the risk of errors, and speed
up the medication dispensing process. The inventory management module tracks drug inventory
levels in real-time, generates alerts when stock levels are low, and helps prevent stock-outs and
reduce waste.
The customer management module enables customers to access their medication history, refill
prescriptions online, and receive notifications when prescriptions are ready for pickup. This
enhances the customer experience and improves customer satisfaction. The reporting and analytics
module generates reports and analytics that can help pharmacy managers make informed decisions
about drug sales, inventory levels, and customer demographics.
The system is developed using web technology, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and is
designed to be scalable and easy to use. The system can be accessed from any device with an
internet connection, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
4.2 Output
One key achievement of the FarmEasy project is the simplification of the medication management
process. Through their user-friendly mobile application and online platform, patients can easily
order prescription medications, track their medication schedules, and receive timely reminders.
This has greatly enhanced medication adherence and reduced the risk of medication errors, leading
to better health outcomes for patients.
FarmEasy has also facilitated seamless communication and collaboration between patients,
doctors, and pharmacies. The platform enables patients to consult with healthcare professionals
remotely, eliminating the need for in-person visits for routine check-ups and minor ailments. This
not only saves time and travel costs for patients but also helps alleviate the burden on healthcare
facilities, especially in remote or underserved areas.
Moreover, FarmEasy has played a vital role in streamlining the supply chain of pharmaceutical
products. By connecting pharmacies and suppliers through their platform, the project has improved
inventory management, reduced stockouts, and minimized wastage of medicines. This has resulted
in more efficient distribution of medications, ensuring their availability when needed and reducing
the overall cost of healthcare.
