Hello everyone! How are you?

this is one of the coolest videos here on my channel I will show

you the 5 most common mistakes that a swimming athlete does when performing a
swimming workout I will also show some drills to improve your technique it's important that
you stay until the end of the video and please leave your like and subscribe to the channel, so
that this content reaches more people! lets go! the first mistake we are going to talk about is
the LOW ELBOW

this mistake can make swimmers fail to enjoy their strokes to the fullest stop producing
force in the stroke for the simple fact that we stop using the whole arm to do the stroke and
start using only the hands for the simple fact that we stop using the whole arm to do the
stroke and start using only the hands see if you can notice the video the swimmer using
only his hands to pull water with the "low elbow" I fail to enjoy my swim and all the strength
and frequency would be wasted

It is a difficult mistake to be identified out of water as we see in this image from outside
it looks like this athlete is swimming normally when in fact he is failing to take advantage
of the propulsion of the swim and to fix this we should do some drills but first I will show
you the correct way to do an arm stroke

that's the correct way to swim with your elbows a little higher you can notice that at the
beginning of the stroke the direction of the elbow is changed right after the hand enters the
water so I can catch more water not only with your hands but with the whole arms so how
to fix this? there is a simple drill:

Using a band link in the description for anyone who wants to buy it's a very cheap
accessory we can put on any surface let it be fixed and perform the stroke with your elbow
high but only the first phase of the stroke (catch) make a good tension and train several
times

With both arms and try to transfer immediately to the swim in the water (which is not
an easy task) this is the stroke with the low elbow the mechanics and muscles used
are different let's go to the second error: I see many people swim like that

And I bet you do too! and it's also a very ugly style, sorry! we are talking about the support
of the stroke many people lose or do not do this support especially the time to do the
breathing and this error reflects in other more severe errors, like the low hip undue
acceleration of the legs what makes fatigue come before

and how is the right way to make this support? here it is when we breathe, we have
to think about our support and not take our hands out of the way always keep your arm
forward looking for the greatest amplitude and when the upper arm is coming, make the
switch

Mainly in breathing this makes swimming much cleaner and more linear this is a very
basic educational, called "hold arm" the upper arm meets the support arm but
remember that this is only educational, and should not be done in your conventional
swimming we are exaggerating the movement to try to correct an error

now comes the third error can you notice? I'm talking about breathing raising his
head a lot when breathing this creates an unnecessary swim drag besides spending more
energy and and can also reflect other swimming errors we intend other muscles that
should not be recruited

this mistake is usually made by people who are not very adapted to water
because they are bothered by the water in the ear now comes the correct part a
simple way to understand this is to think of "half a mouth and one eye just out of the water"
think about it every time you do your breathing that will certainly improve this is a really
cool drill to do just hold one hand in palmateio and the other along the body and do the
side breath again you can train with both sides, with the fins

and now with you the fourth most common mistake we're talking about finishing the
stroke in the video it may seem like I'm swimming right, when I'm not actually finishing the
stroke correctly it takes a very clinical eye to observe this error

Look how short the stroke is, and the stroke rate increases this can lead to tiredness
sooner than we imagine because we do not take full advantage of the propulsion of the arm
now the correct way the way I finish the stroke certainly helps me with propulsion and
energy savings

a very direct and simple drill can be done with snorkel and train only the stroke
completion phase you can feel the triceps muscle well this is already the fifth and
last error of this video

can be perceived the head too high and this error can develop other errors in our swim like
the low hip and with the footage submerged we see this very well look at the hip
reflex imagine how much energy this is doing and the strength that I'm having to do the
most

just because of the position of the head and the correct way to swim, is to simply
position your head and look down leaving our body as aligned with water as possible
naturally the hips already go up and we produce less drag and friction with water thus, saving
much more energy

now the drillis the "superman kick" can also be made with fins and we must be
concerned with keeping the head aligned with the conscious body leaving the high hip

That's it! I hope you enjoyed and don't forget to subscribe and share this video! thanks for
your audience
