PRINCIPLE OF XPLATE TECHNOLOGY

The Principle of XPLATE technology is based on Fuel saving and Emission reduction.
We work on the Nanoscale level i.e. on the molecular forces of interaction of oxygen
molecules in air. Oxygen in air is an important reactant which oxidizes with carbon
present in the fuel.

The General chemical equation indicates the complete combustion


where methane reacts with oxygen to become carbon dioxide and
water and yields the maximum energy.

However, in the real industrial situation, the complete combustion is difficult to
occur. Carbon may react with some oxygen but not completely and unexpectedly
produce carbon monoxide CO and may cause energy loss.
XPLATE Nano technology is used in this energy saving solution where it enhances
the oxygen interaction with carbon, and results in reduction of carbon monoxide
(CO).
MECHANISM OF XPLATE TECHNOLOGY
➢ When air is mechanically compressed, the gas molecules collide with one another
and with the components of the pump / Fan. This friction leads to transfer of charges
between the molecules.
➢ This transfer of charge electrically polarizes the molecules and generates an
electrostatic potential which causes N2-O2 to bind in clusters form.
➢ Analogy of phenomenon: Children rub balloons against hair & stick to wall. Even
though ‘wall’ is grounded, charge is not dissipated & balloon remain stuck (w/o glue)
for quite long.
➢ Similarly, though Fan / Blower is grounded, N2-O2 cluster don’t open automatically,
keeping useful O2 molecules trapped between N2.
➢ These clusters make it difficult for combustion process to proceed by kinetically
hindering the availability of these oxygen molecules for the reaction. As a result, the
combustion efficiency is reduced and unburned hydrocarbons are released.
➢ Same phenomena is seen when two gases / steam is pumped for reaction or When
oxygen is pumped in Oxy-converter to remove metal impurity.
These Electrostatic charges are strong enough to keep molecular
clusters intact under Temperature & Pressure.
SOLUTION - XPLATE

➢ This is where xplate nano technology comes into picture, where it


provides the separation of 𝑂2 oxygen molecules from clusters so
that they are available for combustion.
➢ Now free oxygen molecules available for reaction with carbon.
Hence, carbon mono-oxide will reduce and the amount of 𝑂2
present in air supply will be completely utilized for combustion and
therefore air supply can be reduced giving better efficiency.

FUNCTION OF XPLATE TECHNOLOGY
➢ XPlate works by improving the electrical properties of metal piping & fan periphery so that the
electrostatic charge buildup in the N2-O2 clusters can be discharged more effectively to the fan / pipe
walls.
➢ XPlate is made of a special Nano composite material which has a finely tuned quantum properties,
that allows it to passively and completely discharge electrostatic-charges from air / gas while at the
same time avoiding unintended reaction with the pipe.
➢ This breaks the N2-O2 clusters and frees more oxygen molecules for combustion / reaction. This
additional oxygen is available to react in any chemical process, thus increasing process efficiency.
➢ More O2 surface area availability increases Brownian dynamics & reaction to directly reduce amount
of unburned carbon emitted.
➢ The technology works only on air-side of combustion equation i.e. not on carbon side of equation.
Thus this efficiency improvement can be achieved for all Carbon fuels, regardless of nature of the
fuel.
➢ In simple words, XPlate works as Oxygen-Booster giving more free Oxygen for combustion &
chemical reactions.

➢ Xplate installation is done on the outer surface of fans, pipes, ducts

• Fuel and corresponding air supply is reduced i.e. parameters are restore back to
pre-XPlate values
• If Goal is to get higher output or improve quality etc. adjust plant parameters
without reducing fuel supply
• Thus you get fuel saving and other targeted improvements

• The Flame brightness increases showing more complete combustion
• Burning Zone temperature start increasing.
• Boiler water temp & stack gas temp starts increasing.

• Fuel feed is decreased (Coal, Diesel, FO, Gas, Producer gas etc.) to control
increasing temperature → Realize Fuel saving 3% - 6% - 12%
• Air flow is decreased → 2-4% reduced VFD-fan speed save 7-10% power
• Reduced excess-air proportionally lowers N2 to reduce stack heat loss
• It also reduce proportionate NOX in flue gases. Lesser fuel reduces SOX
• For Metals: recovery increase by Better O2= Impurity (slag) reaction
• For Metal Reheating/Re-melting: combustion temp increase → Metal flow &
Production increases OR fuel flow is reduced to save Fuel

CONCLUSION
