“EXPLORING WEBSITES”
Exploring websites People these days, revolve themselves on the internet. People use the web in many
ways like in education, work, and for information but, before we use the websites in webs, we of course
need to know how the websites work and how to use it properly. As a group, we use websites where we
can find entertainment, search for news and as a student, we also use websites for education. The websites
we chose to discuss are ABS CBN NEWS, ENCYCLOPEDIA, AND DISCORD.
The first website we will talk about is ABS CBN NEWS. (https://news.abs-cbn.com/). It is the website we
use to know the latest news from around the world. When you search up URL of the website it will take
you to the main page where on the top part of the screen, there are different categories, and you can pick
which category you want to know or read about. The only thing you need to do is to pick the category of
your choice and click any article you want to read. The ABS CBN NEWS web is part of the WWW 1.0
version since you can only fetch and read information, but you can't interact with end users.
Second is the ENCYCLOPEDIA (https://war.encyclopedia.com/). You can use the website for work,
Information, and any school related activities. This website is mostly used by students. When you search
up the URL, it will take you to the main page of the website wherein you can type your question in the
search box provided, after you search up your question, it will take you to a page where there is a lot of
other pages that can help you answer your question, just click one page and then it can answer your
question. The encyclopedia web is part of the WWW 1.0 version since just like the first website, you can
only search for Information, but you can't interact with other users.
The third and last website we are going to tackle is Discord. Discord is a communication platform
designed for gamers, but has since expanded to include non-gaming communities.
It allows users to create servers, which are essentially virtual spaces where people can chat and share
multimedia. The platform also includes channels, which are subspaces within a server that can have their
own topics and restrictions.
There are several components of Discord, including voice and text chat, screen sharing, video calls, and
integrations with other platforms like Spotify and Twitch. Users can also customize their profiles, add
friends and join servers, and create bots to automate certain tasks. Discord works through a client-server
model, where users download and install a client app on their device which connects to Discord's servers.
Users can then join servers, communicate with other users and engage in a range of activities. Discord
also offers a range of moderation and security features to keep the platform safe and accessible for
everyone.
Discord is part of the WWW 2.0 version since you can interact with other end users.
