13. Programmes of Study
The candidate will fill up a related programme from any one of the following three sections (a, b, c).

Mechanical Engineering
(a) 4-year Bachelor Programmes
Industrial and Production Engineering*
(Candidates eligible for this programme and applying for Electrical and Electronic Engineering
admission, are asked to fill up the seven boxes in order of Computer Science and Engineering
preference, 1 for first preference, 2 for second preference Software Engineering*

*[These programmes are fully self-financed. In order to attract bright students, IUT shall provide special Partial
Scholarship in one of these programmes* to one (01) overall best international student admitted on self-finance on
condition that he/she maintains CGPA of 3.75 out of 4.0 or above in subsequent years; otherwise, his/her scholarship will
be forfeited and he/she will need to pay full fees as specified in the payment schedule of self-finance students]. In addition,
two OIC Partial scholarships will be awarded in each of the these programmes for international students.

Note (i) Candidates selected for BSc.TE (3 Years) and 4-Year Bachelor of Science (Engg.) Programmes with Full OIC sponsored
scholarship need not make any payment for specified programme duration only.
Note (ii) The minimum entry requirements for the 3-years B.Sc. in Technical Education is a Diploma in Engineering in the relevant
field. Applicants with Higher Diploma in Engineering or its Equivalent in the relevant field or Diploma in Technical Education
in the relevant field will be considered for admission in the second year.
Note (iii) Candidates selected for 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering (OIC Partial and Self-financed) and BBA in Technology
Management programmes shall have to deposit US$ 6,500 for resident students and US$ 5,000 for non-resident students by
transferring it to account as below before admission;

Payment details and schedule for self-finance students for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year is available in the Brochure/Announcement.
Please note that none of the selected candidates will be allowed to register if he/she fails to make the required payment.

Note (iii) Candidates who successfully completed 3-year Higher Diploma in Engineering Programme from IUT, if converted to Bach
elor of Science in Engineering (Fourth Year) Programme, shall have to pay US$ 6500 for their fourth and final year before
registration.
Note (iv) All bank/collection charges are to be borne by the applicant.
Note (v) It is to be noted that there is a fee paid by every student before he or she appears for backlog exams (accumulated failed
exams).
Note (vi) The duration of the IUT academic programmes range from one year to four years. If any student exceeds the specified
duration of a programme due to any reason, he/she will be required to pay the necessary fees for additional year (s) as per the
policiy of the university.

Note for Applicants

(i) The selection of the students will be made by the Admissions Committee of the University taking into
consideration of their academic performance and past conduct of the applicant.
(ii) All full time resident students of IUT will be provided accommodation and food. However all students will be
provided normal medicare, pocket allowance, games and sports facilities, subject to availability of funds.
(iii) The applications should be sent through the Nominating Authority as per advertisement made by the respective
Government. The last date for submission of application forms shall be on Thursday 29 February 2024.
(iv) It is to be noted that candidates may also apply directly through IUT web portals in accordance with Admissions
Guidelines (admission.iutoic-dhaka.edu), however, preference will be given to the nominated candidates.
(v) The duration of the IUT academic programmes range from one year to four years. If any student exceeds the
specified duration of a programme due to any reason, he/she will be required to pay the necessary fees for
additional year (s) as per IUT policy.
