PROGRAMME DETAILS
Library and Information Sciences is an interdisciplinary field that
applies the practices, perspectives and tools of Management,
Information Technology, Education and other areas to Libraries.
It aims to educate students in the philosophy of librarianship,
basic principles, fundamental laws and professional ethics for
enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the
functions and purpose of Library and Information Center in the
changing social, cultural, technological and economic
environment by providing them the basic knowledge of
computer and its application in library and information activities.

How to Apply?
Availability of Prospectus
 Prospectus may be availed from the Division of Admission at the university campus or as specified by the university.

Filling of Application Form
 Applicant has to fill up the Application Form available in the Prospectus.
 It is mandatory to fill in all the columns in the Application Form. 'N.A.' should be written, if
any of the field is not applicable.
Attachments with the Application Form
 The applicant should submit the following self-attested documents and should ensure that corresponding original document
(s)/ testimonial (s) are produced for verification at the time of admission.
i. Photocopy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate bearing testimony to Date of Birth.
ii. Photocopy of Detailed Marks Card of the qualifying exam and other exams as Prescribed by the University.
iii.Photocopy of valid ID proof with photograph issued by Government and Residential Proof.
iv. Photocopy of Disability Certificate/ Employment certificate/ Service proof in case of Defence or Paramilitary forces
(if applicable).
v. Undertaking by the applicant in case of any pendency (Result awaited/ Re-appear/Backlog or any othe pendency.
vi Undertaking for Gap Period if the applicant is applying after gap in his/ her studies.
 Two additional passport size coloured photographs (apart from the one pasted on the Application Form).
 Demand Draft (DD) for the prescribed fee (in case of offline fee payment).
The applicant must ensure that his/her signature on Application Form and on all the testimonials he/she submits,
should be authentic.

Submission of Application Form
 Applicants are required to submit the Application Form and fee, as per schedule of admission given in the prospectus or the
website (www.lpude.in) or otherwise announced by the university from time to time.
 Application Form, complete in all respects, must be submitted:
i) in person at the Division of Admissions at the University Campus, Phagwara or
ii) at such other locations as specified by the university, or

Provision of Online Admission

Apart from applying for admission by visiting University Campus or applying through post, applicants may take admission and
submit fee through Online admission interface. Applicant, who wants to take online admission, is provided with a link of online
admission application interface with the provisions to fill personal and contact details including phone no. and email id; upload
qualifying/academic documents, photograph,signature etc.; and pay fee online. Link along with login id and password of online
admission application interface is shared with the applicant through email by admission counsellors available at university campus.

and such other arrangements.
(ee) Exam centre change fee
(ff) Any other fee/ charges as prescribed by
university from time to time
(ii) Government taxes, levies, service tax, GST and such
other charges, if any, as and when applicable shall be
payable by the student and will be added to the fee due
to student.
(iii) Unless otherwise specified, the fee for other facilities/
purposes as described above, shall be charged in

Indian currency only.
12. Payment of fees
(a) The fee(s) and other charges must be deposited by the
stipulated date, failing which admission shall be declined/
cancelled. No correspondence or appeal in this regard will be
entertained.
(b) In case a student is not able to pay the fee on or before the
date prescribed by the university, then he/she shall seek
permission in writing from the university. However late fee, as
decided by the university from time to time, may be charged
for late submission of fee.
(c) Fee (Programme and Examination) and other charges for
first semester/ year must be paid either in the form of
Demand Draft (DD) or through online fee payment mode.
(d) Applicant must always write Applicant's Name, Father's
Name, Contact No., Application No. (if any), Admission ID
No., Programme applied for and Programme Code on the
backside of the demand draft.
(e) Incomplete or wrong demand draft will not be accepted.
(f) If the last date for payment of fee is a holiday, the fee should be
paid on the first working day after the holiday.
(g) All types of fee and charges as prescribed by the university
and the various facilities provided by it are subject to
revision/change from time to time.
(h) In case a student is given waiver of any course(s) in any term
and is allowed to register for lesser than prescribed number of
courses/ subjects, no relaxation or waiver in fee will be given
and full term fee will be charged.
(i) In case the payment is made through Net Banking/Credit
Card/Debit Card, etc., then additional charges (as levied by
concerned banks/ mediator/ external agency) for such
payments will also have to be paid by applicants.
13. Refund
(I) Refund of Fee
(a) Withdrawal on or before the last date of admission: In
case an applicant withdraws on or before the last date of
admission, then the amount already deposited by the
applicant after deduction of processing fee of Rs 500/-
(Rupees Five Hundred), shall be refunded.
(b) Withdrawal not more than15 days after the last date of
admission: In case an applicant withdraws not more
than 15 days after the last date of admission, then the
amount already deposited by the applicant after
deduction of 20% of total fee prescribed by the university
shall be refunded.
(c) Withdrawal after 15 days but less than 30 days after the
last date of admission: In case an applicant withdraws
after 15 days but less than 30 days after the last date of
admission, then the amount already deposited by the
applicant after deduction of 50% of total fee prescribed
by the university shall be refunded.
(d) Withdrawal more than 30 days after the last date of
admission: In case an applicant withdraws after 30 days
from the last date of admission, he/she shall have no
claim of refund of any fee or other charges already paid
or otherwise, whatsoever against / from the University.
(ii) Non Refundable fees/cases:
(a) Amount paid for Application fee, Processing fee, Late
fee, Entrance fee, Programme Transfer Fee and other
charges is non-refundable under all circumstances,
unless otherwise specifically prescribed as refundable.
(b) If in any case, a candidate has unknowingly or willfully
concealed or suppressed any information/fact or if
found impersonating or using any fraudulent means for
getting the admission in the University, which renders
