manage different subjects. I will talk about the services of the Catalan social services
system, focused on the elderly people. The Generalitat of Cat has exclusive competence in
matters of SS.

Dependency Law.

A set of tasks that are carried out in the home of people or families that are found, for
physical or social reasons, in situations of lack of temporary or permanent autonomy in order
to carry out the habitual tasks of daily life.
Much of the population can not afford to pay disoriented prices, but there is the SAD (Home
Care Service), with a degree and dependency you can enjoy the service: Home care
services are an organized set of resources and actions aimed at people who, due to age,
dependence or disability, have limited autonomy to perform the basic activities of daily life or
require permanent and permanent attention. Inside this service, there is the home help

PROBLEMS AND CRITICISM

Spain takes advantage of the situation of the elderly, the needs of vulnerable people. Life
expectancy is increasingly higher, and there is very little public service offer.
There is an increase in the private sector, and they take advantage of the situation of
dependence and vulnerability. The prices are very expensive. 2-500 per month.

● A study arrives to the conclusion: situations of isolation at homes. Loneliness

● Every time it is tried not to institutionalize care services to people. There are many
families who are forced to not be able to taking care about.

● Co- Housing: model of «aging at home». It allows, through a participatory model,

well-being and quality of life to live in community. It keeps the autonomy at the same
time, by keeping each user the homes, environments or belongings. In short, a
balanced and empowering model of its inhabitants.

They don’t lose autonomy. Different people share the common areas.
Aging in place means a person making a conscious decision to stay in the inhabitation of
their choice for as long as they can with the comforts that are important to them. As they age
these may include adding supplementary services to facilitate their living conditions and
maintain their quality of life

Aging in place refers to a person in their golden years when they can live in the residence of
their preference and are still able to access the things they require and used to in their daily
life.
