Terrestrial Navigation (HOUSTM-515)

Duration 5 days

Target group Any applicant who has successfully completed both your Coastal
Navigation (HOUSTM-122) and Terrestrial Navigation (HOUSTM-515)
courses will satisfy the Terrestrial Navigation training requirements of 46
CFR 11.309(a)(4)(viii) for STCW an endorsement as OICNW on vessels of 500
GT or more; PROVIDED the applicant has successfully completed both
courses within one year of the application. STCW Task Assessments are not
conducted in this course.

Prerequisites Students must be able to speak and read in English.

- Electronic navigation
- Terrestrial observations

Exam In order to successfully complete this course, each student must obtain a
grade percentage of not less than 80% on the 10-question Navigation
Problems exam and 70% on the 20-question Navigation General exam.
