Rotary Youth Camp 2024

In East Hungary from 19th July to 28th July 2024

Hosted by Mátészalka Rotary Club

Programmes:

Friday, July 19: Arrival in Budapest - sightseeing: visiting the Parliament,


Buda Castle, evening cruise on the Danube

Saturday, July 20: Walk in ‘Városliget’, visiting the House of Music Hungary, in
the afternoon transfer to Mátészalka (3 hours drive), occupying
accommodation in the evening
Sunday, July 21: Viewing the chariot exhibition in a local museum -
sightseeing, in the evening a ‘get together’ where our guests can get to know
each other better (a welcome party, quiz, games, etc.)

Monday, July 22: Visiting the Museum Village in Nyíregyháza in the morning
and Sóstó Zoo in the afternoon

Tuesday, July 23: Optional horse riding in Főnix park, going to the swimming
pool, outdoor cooking party, Rotary meeting

Wednesday, July 24: Excursion to Debrecen, visiting the Déri Museum and
other local attractions

Thursday, July 25: Short bicycle tour (max. 15 km), rest in the afternoon

Friday, July 26: All-day trip to Kisvárda, sightseeing

Saturday, July 27: Half-day ‘Szatmár’ tour / farewell party in the evening

Sunday, July 28: Mátészalka - Budapest, transfers to the airport (3 hours)

Summer Camp 2024


July 19 – 28

Arrival: Saturday, July 19th, 2024 within 4.00 PM Airports: Budapest - Code: BUD
(PREFERRED) or any railway station in Budapest. A Rotary Club Rep will be at the
airport/train station to provide assistance and transportation (arrival and
departure).

Departure: Sunday - July 28th, 2024

Hosting District: D1911 - Mateszalka (Hungary)

Accommodation: In Mátészalka with Rotary families or in an apartment by Főnix


Park - one night in Budapest in a hostel or dormitory
Participants: The first 14 registrants will be accepted, trying to offer at least 1 place
per Country and District pursuing gender balance.

The limit of 14 is mandatory.

Age: 15 - 17 years old

Language: English

Cost: 350 euros / person (the cost includes food, accommodation, entry fees and
transportation during the camp).

Other Costs: Participants should bring a reasonable amount of pocket money.

Clothes: Casual clothes, sneakers, swimsuit for pool/outdoor activities.

Terms/requirements for participation: Good health and good physical condition.

We provide three meals a day (please let us know in advance if you’re vegan, have
any food allergies or other).

Insurance: Not included, applicants are required to have valid accident insurance.
