YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD
BIBLE READING John 1:12, “Yet to all who received
him, to those who believed in his
name, he gave the right to become
children of God.”
One of the gifts you received when you surrender your life to
Jesus is the right to be a child of God. What? A child of God?
Yes! Your faith in Christ qualified you to be a member of God’s
wonderful family.
There are certain groups who load you with conditions and
requirements to bring you closer to God. But even for satisfying
all their regulations, they cannot give you any assurance.
Worse, they themselves aren’t sure of their relationship with
God. The verse above clearly states that by believing in Christ
you become a child of God. It is by faith and not through man-
made rules.
Now that you are a child of God, you also possess the rights of
a child of God. You can now truly call God “My Father in
heaven.” You can tell Him your problems, your needs, your joy
and frustrations. And what does a Father do to his child in
need? The Father comes to help! He cares, he protects, he
comforts, he guides, and he provides.
Don’t be shy. Remember you are His child and He is your
Father. Come boldly to His throne and open to Him your heart.
You may pray and call God “Father”.

YOU ARE BORN AGAIN YOU HAVE BEEN SNATCHED OUT OF
BIBLE READING John 3:3, Jesus replied, “Very truly
I tell you, no one can see the
kingdom of God unless they are
born again”.
John 3:5-6, Jesus answered, “I tell
you the truth, no one can enter the
kingdom of God unless he is born
of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives
birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives
birth to spirit.
Are you born again? Do not worry if you cannot answer this
question. The meaning of this title has become confusing
because of misuse and opinions. This lesson will help you
understand the biblical meaning of “born again”.
During the time of Jesus, a religious leader named Nicodemus
came at night to him to ask questions. It was during this
dialogue that Jesus declared a person must be born again to
enter the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus did not understand
Jesus because he thought it was impossible for man to get into
his mother’s womb again. What Jesus meant was spiritual birth
not a physical one. A man maybe physically alive but without
his sins forgiven is spiritually dead. When he comes to have
faith in Jesus, God will forgive him and will make him spiritually
alive (he is now “born again”).
The only way you can be born again is to believe in Jesus as
your Lord and Savior. If you have not done that decision, do it
now through prayer like this: “Father, I seek forgiveness for all
my sins through the blood of your Son, Jesus. And now, I open
my heart and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.” If you made the decision already,
pause and thank God for causing you to be born again into His
kingdom.

HELL
BIBLE READING Colossians 1:12-13, “Giving thanks

the dominion of darkness and
brought us into the kingdom of the
Son he loves.”
Many people do not care about what their lives would be after
death. No wonder Jesus declared that there are more people
entering the gate of hell (Matthew 7:13). If you have made
Jesus your Lord and Savior, praise God! He has snatched you
out of hell.
The whole bible identifies two destinations for man: heaven or
hell. There is no other place in between. Man without Christ
shall pay the penalty of his sin through death. This death is not
merely physical but also spiritual. Some groups teach that the
soul of man disappears forever after death. But Jesus himself
described eternal punishment in hell (Matthew 25:46). Indeed,
it is so terrible that Jesus came to warn and save mankind.
People today are busy running after the things of this world. But
Jesus cautioned “What good will it be for a man if he gains the
whole world, yet forfeits his souls?” (Matthew 16:26).
Friend, if you have received Jesus as your Savior know that you
have been delivered from hell. You can sleep with the peace of
God. Thank God because whether you are awake or sleep,
your soul is secure in heaven.
Think of your loved ones and friends whom you think need
Jesus. Pray right now and ask God that they too will be saved
from hell.

Sin is universal curse. It enslaves people in all walks of life: rich
or poor, beautiful or ugly, educated or illiterate, religious or
criminal. Man knows the law of God but his flesh is weak to
resist sin. He can’t say “NO” to sin. Worse, the man who yields
to sin becomes a slave of sin (Romans 6:16). You can enter a
prestigious school, a rehabilitation center, a popular religion or
even become a priest. But these steps would not liberate you
from being a slave of sin. The only way for a slave to be freed
is to die.
Jesus did that exactly for you on the cross. When you received
Jesus into your life, your old self was crucified and therefore
died. Since through Christ you have died, you are now free from
the power of sin. Sin still remains in the world but it has no
longer mastery over you. When Satan comes again to tempt
you, you now have the freedom to say NO.
Think of a sin in your life. Claim the freedom from that sin. Say
a prayer like this:
A battery-operated robot toy will not work unless you place into
it the batteries. Similarly, our new life in Christ would be difficult
to live if God did not provide us the power to follow Him.
But God did it. He did not merely give us an impersonal power,
He gave us a person, the Holy Spirit. The verses above clearly
declare God sent His Spirit to enable us to obey His laws. You
don’t commit your life to Christ and then live righteously on your
own. You will surely fail. God has given us His Spirit to be our
partner for a holy life. He is in you!
Didn’t you notice that since you invited Christ into your life, you
became more conscious of sin? It is the Holy Spirit working in
you. Listen to Him and draw your strength from Him.
The next time you encounter a difficult situation, stop and pray
“O Holy Spirit, I confess I can’t do this on my own. Grant me the

“My Father in heaven, I confess I committed this sin (name it).

I ask for forgiveness. Today I declare that through my faith in
Christ, I have been freed from the power of this sin. Lord sustain
me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
