Vision.

The USM Vision


Quality and relevant education for its clientele to be globally competitive,
culture-sensitive and morally responsive human resources for sustainable
development.
ANSWER:

University of Southern Mindanao’s vision recounts the school’s high-level


goals for the future of their students. Wherein it Acts as a “call to arms,” or a way to
support students for an effective learning environment that will outgrowth the
students’ best attribution. Its goal is to mobilize the students and community to move
in a new direction or pursue more ambitious goals.

That being so, the University of Southern Mindanao’s vision delineates its
broad academic and operational assurances and its commitment to its students and
community.

2. Using your own words, explain your personal understanding on the USM
Mission.

The USM Mission


Help accelerate socio-economic development, promote harmony among
diverse communities and improve quality of life through instruction, research,
extension and resource generation in Southern Philippines.
ANSWER:
USM’s mission brings students together to reflect on the “noble purpose” of
education, providing the institution’s direction and its primary objectives that will
guide to increase efficiency and productivity to its constituents. Developing public
commitments with the involvement of teachers, staff, students, parents, and
community members can increase general understanding of what the students need
to accomplish. Also, promote academic excellence and equity for a diverse
population of students and provide educational opportunities.

Also, USM’s mission acts as a “North Star,” at which point proffer the
institution’s direction by guiding the students to become positive, responsible and
innovative. As for its goal, it provides focal points that give a heads up to what the
students will be engaging in.
3. Using your own words, explain your personal understanding on the CEIT
Goals.
College of Engineering and Information Technology GOALS
The USM College of Engineering and Information Technology is committed to
provide university education in agricultural engineering, civil engineering, and
computing; meet the community’s need for trained manpower in engineering and
various technical and managerial capabilities, and conduct researches and
extension activities geared towards the amelioration of the region and the
community at large.
ANSWER:

The goal of the College of Engineering and Information Technology is to


maximize opportunities provided by technology to transform teaching and learning to
generate societies demand. CEIT's goal is also to continue to provide professional
development in instructional technology to furnish appropriate instructional
technology support and Commit to a regular plan to evaluate, consider, and acquire
emerging technology.

4. Using your own words, summarize the objectives of College of Engineering


and Information Technology.

College of Engineering and Information Technology OBJECTIVES


The College of Engineering and Information Technology aims to become one
of the premier institutions of engineering and information and communications
technology in the country within five years.
To achieve this, it pushes to pursue the following courses of action:
Improve the quality of its graduates specifically in terms of performance in
licensure exams and employability;
Increase books, other library acquisitions, and equipment; and improve
student facilities to conform with national and international standards;
Increase opportunities for trainings and graduate studies among faculty and
staff members;
Conduct more research, extension and income generation activities as well as
publication of the results of such activities, all in support of the instruction
function of the college; and
Strive to attain optimal efficiency in expenditure and the conduct of other
administrative activities of the college
ANSWER:
The objectives of the College of Engineering and Information Technology
depict how this institution provides high quality of education in line with this course
and gives diverse caliber learning that aims to become one of the premier
institutions of engineering information and communication technology in the country
and also, aims to hone us, students, to be globally competent within 4 to 5 years.

I take into account that the CEIT's objectives are designed to produce
graduates that possess knowledge and skills in mathematics, biological and physical
sciences, and engineering principles in application to address society’s grand
challenges in food, energy, and water.
5. In your own words, summarize the BSAE PEO.

BSAE Program education objective (PEO)

ANSWER:
The Program Education Objective of the Bachelor of Science and Agricultural
and Biosystems Engineering is based on the CHED CMO 94 Series of 2017.

The PEO's objective is to apprise the students of Knowledge and skills


in mathematics, natural, physical, allied sciences chemistry, and statistics to be
globally competitive within three to five years. BSABE graduates are also expected
to apply engineering science and design to identify, analyze, and create solutions for
problems concerning the land, types of machinery, climate change, and
environmental and waste management problems. Lastly, the graduates of BSABE
are expected to fathom and relate the learnings to the nation's call.

7. What is the statement policy of “Philippine Agricultural and Biosystems


Engineering Act of 2016”?

ANSWER:
Based on REPUBLIC ACT No. 10915, an Act Strengthening, Modernizing
and Aligning the Practice of Agricultural Engineering in the Country into the
Internationally Recognized Practice of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, and
for Other Purposes.
Article I General Provisions Section 2. Statement of Policy, It is hereby
declared a policy of the State to promote, strengthen and regulate the practice of
agricultural and biosystems engineering profession in the Philippines by instituting
measures that will result in relevant agricultural and biosystems engineering
education and enhanced roles and better career prospects for agricultural and
biosystems engineers.
Likewise, the State hereby guarantees the application and delivery of
agricultural and biosystems engineering services to accelerate agricultural and
fishery modernization; and ensure food and water security, bio-energy development,
natural resources conservation, environmental protection and human health and
safety by fostering the training and development of an adequate and well-trained
pool of agricultural and biosystems engineers in the Country.

8. In your own words, what are the coverage of this act?

Answer:
To meet the world’s international standard in Agricultural engineering,
this act was created to modernize, enhance, and strengthen our country’s
agricultural engineering practices and other purposes.

The Republic Act No.10915 or known as, The Philippine Agricultural


and Biosystems Engineering Act, consisting of seven Articles, declares a
policy of the State to promote, strengthen and regulate the practice of
agricultural and biosystems engineering profession in the Philippines by
instituting measures that will result in relevant agricultural and biosystems
engineering education and enhanced roles and better career prospects for
agricultural and biosystems engineers.

10. What are the scope of the Licensure Examination for Agricultural and
Biosystems Engineering?

ANSWER:
In accordance with the Republic Act No. 10915 or also known as "An Act
Strengthening, Modernizing and Aligning the Practice of Agricultural Engineering in
the Country into the Internationally Recognized Practice of Agricultural and
Biosystems Engineering, and for Other Purposes."
As per affirm to the Article 1, Section 3 of this Act, this decree shall cover the
practice of the profession of agricultural and biosystems engineering which includes
the examination, registration and licensure of agricultural and biosystems engineers
corresponding to the Article 3, Section 17 of this dictum where the licensure
examination for agricultural and biosystems engineers shall cover the required
competencies for the entry-level of the practice of agricultural and biosystems
engineering that take in Agricultural and Biosystems Power Energy and Machinery
Engineering; Land and Water Resources Engineering; Agricultural and Biosystems
Structures and Environment Engineering; Agricultural and Bioprocess Engineering,
Project Management; Feasibility Study Preparation/Evaluation, Research,
Development and Extension on Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering;
Fundamentals of Agricultural, Fishery Ecological and Environmental Sciences;
Mathematics and Basic Engineering Principles; Laws, Professional Standards and
Ethics; and other subjects within the areas of competencies required for the practice
of agricultural and biosystems engineering profession pursuant to Section 5 of this
Act.
These subjects and their syllabi may be periodically amended by the Board to
conform with the latest technological changes brought about by continuing trends in
the profession.
