“Moses said to God, “When I come to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God
of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’
What shall I say to them?” And God said to Moses, “Ehyeh-Asher-Ehyeh”,
continuing, “Thus shall you say to the Israelites, “Ehyeh” sent me to you.”
And God (Elohim) said further to Moses, “Thus shall you speak to the
Israelites: Adonai (Yud, Hay, Vav, Hay), the God of your ancestors – the God
of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob – has sent me to you;
This shall be My name forever, This My appellation for all eternity.”

“The Holy One, said to those, you want to know my name? I am called
according to my actions. When I judge the creatures I am Elohim, and when I
have mercy with My world, I am named Adonai YHWH” (Exodus Rabbah 3:6).
1. Elohim – “When God (Elohim) began to create heaven and earth, the
earth being unformed and void, with darkness over the surface of the
deep and a wind from God (Elohim) sweeping over the water, God
(Elohim) said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” (Genesis 1:1-3)
2. Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh – “And God (Elohim) said to Moses, ‘Ehyeh Asher
Ehyeh” (Exodus 3:14)
3. Ehyeh – “Say to the Israelites, Ehyeh sent me.” (Exodus 3:14)
4. Eloha – “Every word of God (Eloha) is pure, a shield to those who take
refuge in God.” (Proverbs 30:5)
5. Adonai – “An Angel of God (Adonai) appeared to him in a blazing fire
out of a bush.” (Exodus 3:2) (6,828 times in Tanach)

6. Adonai Tzevaot – “Then David and all the troops that were with him set
out from Baalim of Judah to bring up from there the Ark of God (Ha-
Elohim) to which the Name (Shem) was attached, the name God of
Hosts (Adonai Tzevaot) enthroned on the Cherubim.” (2 Samuel 6:2)
7. Adonai Tzeedkenu – “In his days Judah will be delivered and Israel will
dwell secure. And this is the name by which he shall be called: “God is
our Vindicator (Adonai Tzeedkenu).” (Jeremiah 23:6)
8. Adonai Yireh – “And Abraham named that site, God-Will-See (Adonai
Yireh), whence the present saying, “On the mount of God (Adonai
Yireh) there is vision.” (Genesis 22:14)
9. Adonai Nisi – “And Moses built an altar and named it “God of Miracle”
(Adonai Nisi).” (Exodus 17:15)
10.Adonai Roee – “God is my shepherd (Adonai Roee) I shall not want.”

11.Adonai Rofeha – “If you heed Adonai your God (Adonai Eloheha)
diligently, doing what is upright in God’s sight, giving ear to God’s
commandments and keeping all God’s laws, then I will not bring upon
you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the
Healer God (Adonai Rofeha).” (Exodus 15:26)
12.Adonai Kanah – “For you must not worship any other god because
God’s (Adonai) name is “Impassioned” (Adonai Kanah).” Exodus 34:14)

13.Adonay Ha-Adonim – “For Adonai your God is God of Gods and Lord of
Lords (Adonay Ha-Adonim)…” (Deuteronomy 10:17)
14.El – “The heavens declare the glory of God (El), the sky proclaims
God’s handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1) “So you are my witnesses, declares
God (Adonai), And I am God (El). (Isaiah 43:12)
15.El Shadai – “God (Elohim) spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am God
(Adonai). I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God (El Shaddai),
but I did not make myself known to them by My name God (Adonai).
(Exodus 6:2)
16.El Elyon – “He blessed him saying, “Blessed be Abram of God Most
High (El Elyon), Creator of heaven and earth, and blessed be God Most
High (El Elyon) who has delivered your foes into your hand.” (Genesis
14:19-20)
17.El Roi – “And she called the name of God (Adonai) who spoke to her,
‘El Roi’ (“God who sees me”).” Genesis 16:13
