Ladies and gentlemen,

My name is Tanya Ncube and it is an honour to stand before you today to discuss a topic
that is close to my heart - restoring the family for children's well-being and welfare. As we all
know, the family is the foundation of society, and it is essential to ensure that it is strong and
healthy for the sake of our children.

In recent years, we have seen a decline in the traditional family structure, with more and
more children growing up in single-parent households or with non-traditional family
arrangements. While these families can provide love and support, research has shown that
children who grow up in stable, two-parent households tend to fare better in life.

Children who grow up in stable families have better academic outcomes, are less likely to
engage in risky behaviour, and have better mental health. They also tend to have better
relationships with their parents and are more likely to form healthy relationships in adulthood.

However, restoring the family is not just about promoting the traditional family structure. It is
about creating an environment where families can thrive, regardless of their structure. This
means providing support for single parents, promoting healthy co-parenting relationships,
and ensuring that all families have access to the resources they need to provide for their
children.

We must also address the root causes of family breakdown, such as poverty, lack of access
to education and healthcare, and social isolation. By addressing these issues, we can create
a society where families can thrive and children can grow up happy, healthy, and successful.

In conclusion, restoring the family is essential for the well-being and welfare of our children.
It is not just about promoting the traditional family structure, but about creating an
environment where all families can thrive. By addressing the root causes of family
breakdown and providing support for families ,we can create a society where children can
grow and thrive in a stable and loving environment, we can create a society where children
can grow up to be happy, healthy, and successful. Thank you.
