How to Check Pyranometer Unstable Signal

SUBJECT : How to Check Pyranometer Unstable Signal

DATE : February 29, 2024
LOCATION :
 Inverter Room 1
 Rooftop
 HR/GA Room
TOOL & EQUIPMENT :
 Milli-Ammeter (DC mA)
 Precession tools
 Laptop
 RS-485 to USB Converter

PROCEDURE:

A. Checking the Looseness of the Wires

1. Check the looseness of the wirings at all termination points between the sensors and terminal block
in Communication Panel 1.
2. Check the looseness of the wirings between terminal and ADAM
3. Check the looseness of the wirings between ADAM and Data Logger
4. Rectify looseness if there is any and check the values in Monitoring PC right after.

B. Checking Product Failure of Pyranometer

1. If the looseness of the wires is not the factor affecting the unstable signal, go to Communication
Panel 1.
2. Turn off MCB F2.4.
3. Disconnect the Pyranometer Cables connected to XCOM3-2 coming from the Pyranometer in the
roof.
4. Turn ON MCB F2.4.
5. Set the multi-meter to DC mA Mode and measure the current at terminal XCOM3-2 in series (see
below).

6. Readings should be between 4-20mA. If the irradiance is stable, the values should remain stable
as well.
7. If the values are fluctuating up and down, there is a possibility that there is a Failure of
Pyranometer. Record a video to claim the warranty of the Pyranometer.

C. Checking Product failure of ADAM and Data Logger

1. If the readings after procedure B-6 were OK, connect a laptop using USB converter to ADAM.
2. Connect also a LAN Cable to Ethernet Switch located inside of Communication Panel 1.
3. Open Team Viewer for SSSA to have a remote access and for them to check if ADAM and Data
logger is still functioning well.
4. SHARP will make a report after all procedures are done for the summary and conclusion.
