Today, we'll be watching a short video
about intercultural awareness but before that,
let us answer first the following questions.
1. Have you ever felt different from others
because of your beliefs/race, family tradition?
2. What are some ways you felt different?
. What are some wrong assumptions people have
made about you and your family that have
caused problems?
Introduction and

Warm-up Activity 1:
After watching the video, take a moment
to reflect on a time when you witnessed or
experienced an act of injustice. It could be
something small or something significant. Once
you have that moment in mind, consider how it
made you feel and why it stood out to you. Feel
free to share your thoughts with the group if
you're comfortable.

2. Cultural Safety
Cultural safety refers to a way of being with
another person which encourages and celebrate
difference. It guarantees recognition, respect,
and nurturing of the individual’s cultural
identity.
3. Cultural Sensitivity
The skills that permit us to learn about and
understand others who come from a different
cultural background. How do you approach your
classmates from different cultural backgrounds?

We must value justice as a guiding


principle. This means recognizing the inherent
worth and dignity of every individual, regardless
of their background or circumstances. It
guarantees recognition, respect, and nurturing
of the individual’s cultural identity and it means
actively seeking out ways to support and uplift
whatever cultural background we came from.

Guide Questions:
1. Tell me about a time you had to perform in a
class with a group that had a diverse perspective
and cultural backgrounds.
2. How did you ensure that everyone’s opinions
were heard and respected.
3. How do you handle situations where you
encounter cultural misunderstandings or
conflict inside the classroom or community.
