ABOUT NATIONAL CAREER SERVICE
National Career Service is a Mission Mode Project launched by the Hon’ble

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 20th July, 2015. It is a one-stop
solution that provides a wide array of employment and career related services
to the citizens of India. National Career Service is a vibrant platform which
aims to transform and strengthen the public employment services in the
country. It brings together Job Seekers, Employers, Skill Providers, Career
Counsellors, Career Centers, Placement Organizations, Households and
Government Departments on a common platform through the efficient use of
information technology.
• Easy accessibility of employment services like staffing, placement and recruitment to all the
stakeholders
• Enhancing employability of the workforce by providing them information on training &
skilling
• Provisioning of career counselling services
• Providing information related to job profiles, career paths & employers
• PAN verified institutions and rich database of job seekers
• Career planning and rich career content on over 3500 occupations across 52 sectors
• NCS has partnerships with various private organizations like TCS iON, Quess Corp,
HireMee, CSCs, Microsoft etc.
• Around 407 Model Career Centers (including 7 non-funded) have been set up across the
country till now
• National Career Service Centers for Differently Abled (NCSCs-DA) are being run by DGE
across the country
• National Career Service Centers for SCs and STs (NCSC – SCs/STs) for providing
employment related training and guidance are also being run by DGE
As on 26th Feb 2024, around 23,60,257 employers were registered on the NCS Portal
& the active vacancies count as of the mentioned date was 10,39,761

Differently Abled (NCSC-DAs) Overview
FACTS ABOUT NCSC-DA CENTERS:
1. NCSC DAs provide non-formal vocational training tailored to the abilities of Persons
with Disabilities (PwDs) across various trades, taking into account their physical,
educational, and socio-psychological capacities. For a detailed list of trades offered at
different NCSC-DAs, please refer to:

2. These centers operate in 24 locations across the country, spanning the following
States/Union Territories: Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai,
Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai,
Patna, Puducherry, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Una, and Vadodara.
3. The NCSC-DA situated in Vadodara, Gujarat, focuses exclusively on addressing the

rehabilitation needs of disabled women.
4. NCSC-DAs conduct outreach programs through camps and job fairs to further extend
their services to the community.

Get in-depth information on the Operations & Support Sector including Job Description,

Information” Section.
With continuous growth in the Operations & Support Sector, its manpower requirement is also
increasing. The bar graph given below shows functional areas in the above-mentioned sector,
against which job vacancies have been mobilized on the NCS portal in FY 2023-24. It can be seen
that functional area of Customer Care Service has maximum requirement followed by
Administration/Back Office Activities, Operations & Maintenance, Travel Agency, Tour
Operator & Other Reservation Service Activities, and Hospitality. The graph given represents
valid insights to the jobseekers who are planning their career in this sector.

GLIMPSES OF JOB FAIRS AND EVENTS
NCS organizes Job Fairs and Career Events across the country through its vast network of Career Centers

Key Highlights:
Date of the Event: 1st February, 2024
Details: Model Career Center, Hingoli,

Maharashtra organized a Job Fair with 17
employers by offering around 1500 vacancies.
A total of 728 jobseekers participated and
interviewed with reputed companies, out of Key Highlights:
which 277 students were shortlisted.

Details: Model Career Center, Jhunjhunu,

Rajasthan organized a career talk at RR
Morarka Govt. Degree College, Jhunjhunu. A
total of 140 students participated and were
educated about various career options available
and the features of NCS.

Key Highlights:
Date of the Event: 8th February, 2024
Details: Model Career Center, Agra, Uttar

Pradesh organized a Job Fair with 05 reputed
employers offering 300+ vacancies. A total of
324 candidates participated in the Job Fair and Key Highlights:
interviewed for dynamic job roles, out of which
116 candidates were shortlisted and the result Date of the Event: 10th February, 2024
for finally selected candidates is awaited.

Tripura conducted a Mini Job Drive with
Swiggy offering various vacancies for the job
role of a Delivery Agent. A total no. of 20
candidates participated out of which 07
candidates got shortlisted, and 04 were
selected on the spot.

Rajasthan organized a Job Fair with 15
employers offering 2500 vacancies. A total of Key Highlights:
500 candidates participated, out of which 157
candidates were shortlisted. Date of the Event: 16th February, 2024

Andhra Pradesh organized a Job Fair 14
employers offering various job roles like
Network Manager, Sales Manager, Technician,
Accountant, Pharmacist, etc. A total of 662
candidates participated to interview for 1800+
vacancies, out of which 234 candidates were
shortlisted.

Key Highlights:
Details: A Mega Job Fair was organized by

Model Career Center, Dharmapuri, Tamil
Nadu with 61 employers offering 4300+
vacancies. A total of 1172 candidates
participated and interviewed for suitable job
Key Highlights:
roles with a decent salary package and many
amenities. 320 candidates were shortlisted.

Jharkhand organized a Job Fair with 07
reputed employers with 566 vacancies. A total
of 285 jobseekers participated out of which 61
jobseekers were shortlisted.

Puducherry organized a Mega Job Fair for
various qualified students. A total of 50
employers came up with 10,000+ vacancies
where 2145 jobseekers participated, out of Key Highlights:
which 923 candidates were shortlisted.

Gujarat organized a Mega Job Fair with 30
employers offering 2500+ vacancies for
numerous job roles. A total of 1200+
jobseekers participated, out of which 481 were
shortlisted.

Nandita Chaurasia, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh

“My name is Nandita Chaurasia. I hail from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh.
Despite completing my 12th grade, I faced challenges in finding a
suitable job. Seeking guidance, I visited the Model Career Centre,
Raebareli to explore career options and job opportunities. During my
visit, the staff at the MCC informed me about an upcoming Job Fair
organized by the Don Bosco Tech Society. Intrigued by the prospect, I
decided to participate. To my delight, I was selected as a ‘Sales Assistant’
at Radhey Auto Sales.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Model Career Centre, Raebareli,
Uttar Pradesh and the National Career Service for providing me with the
opportunity to attend the interview and ultimately secure the position.”

“I hail from Gajapati, Odisha. After completing my under-graduation, I
was eagerly seeking employment opportunities that align with my
qualifications to support my family financially after the passing of my
father. I was specifically looking for local jobs. Soon after, I learnt about
the job drive being held at MCC, Gajapati, Odisha in collaboration with
UpToSkills placement agency. Participating in the event, I secured a
position as a Micro Loan Officer at L&T Finance.
All thanks to National Career Service and the staff at Model Career Centre,
Gajapati, Odisha for their guidance and support.”

Adaikalam Karthika A., Madurai, Tamil Nadu

“My name is Adaikalam Karthika A, and I recently completed my
Bachelor’s Degree. Seeking better job opportunities, I registered myself on
the NCS portal. Fortunately, I came across information about a micro job
fair organized by Model Career Centre, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Eager to
explore potential opportunities, I actively participated in the event and had
the opportunity to interview with HDB Financial Services Ltd. I am
delighted to share that I successfully secured an offer with a decent pay
scale.
I am immensely grateful to National Career Service and MCC, Madurai,
Tamil Nadu for their valuable support in facilitating this career milestone
for me.”
Lokender Kumar, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh

“My name is Lokender Kumar, hailing from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.
Coming from a middle-class background, I pursued my graduation with
determination. During my quest for employment opportunities, I was
fortunate to learn about a Job Fair organized by MCC, Bulandshahr , Uttar
Pradesh through a friend who received a notification from NCS. Attending
the Job Fair, I had the opportunity to interact with representatives from
various companies. I was particularly enlightened by the insightful
discussions on job details and the benefits provided by NCS led by the
Youth Professionals present at the event. I am delighted to announce that I
have been selected for the position of Business Development Executive at
Axis Bank, marking a significant milestone in my career journey.
