Bababudangiri, situated in Chikmagalur,

Belur/Halibedu 19

Belur or Halobedu is home to one of the grandest


examples of Hoysala architecture, the Chennakesava
Temple (Also Chennakeshava). The temple was built
in the early
12th century by the Hoysala ruler, Vishnuvardhana,
when the town of Belur was the site for the capital of
the Hoysala kingdom.It was the early capital of the
Hoysala kings in 11th-century and remained a second
capital through the 14th- century. The city was so
esteemed by the Hoysalas that it is referred to as
"earthly Vaikuntha" (Vishnu's abode) and "dakshina
Varanasi"

Dubare Elephat camp

Dubare is known for its elephant camp, a


forest camp on the banks of the river Kaveri in
the district of Kodagu, Karnataka. It is an
important base for the Karnataka Forest
Department's elephants. The elephants for the
Mysore Dussehra were trained at Dubare
elephant camp.

Plantation and spices walk


The presence of numerous coffee plantations and
spices like cardamom,bay leaves etc. While these
coffee plantations looks superbly pleasing to the
eyes from a distance, getting to walk on them is
an experience every explorer would like to add to
their lives.

Tibetan Monastery
Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery is the largest
teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan
Buddhism in the world. Located in Bylakuppe, part of
the kodagu district of the state of Karnataka, the
monastery is home to a sangha community of over
five thousand lamas (both monks and nuns), a junior
high school named Yeshe Wodsal Sherab Raldri Ling,
a religious college (or shedra for both monks and
nuns) and hospital

Bird Aviary
This unique park,commonly known as parrot park
home to over 2000 birds, the Birds aviary in Mysore is
a must visit for ornithophiles and nature lovers. With
over 450 varied species, this striking 50m high aviary
spanning an area of 2 acre currently holds the record
for most bird species in an aviary in the Guinness Book
of World Records.

Mysore palace
Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, stands as a
