Raspberry Pi

 Raspberry Pi is a low-cost mini-computer with the physical size of a credit card.

 Raspberry Pi runs various flavors of Linux and can perform almost all tasks that a
normal desktop computer can do.

 Raspberry Pi can do everything a desktop computer does, including accessing the

internet

 Raspberry Pi also allows interfacing sensors and actuators through the general
purpose 1/0 pins.

 Since Raspberry Pi runs Linux operating system, it supports Python "out of the box"

 Using Raspberry Pi we can watch high-definition video, access spreadsheets, word

processing, and Play games.

Features
 Computer in your palm.

 Single-board computer.

 Low cost.
 Easy to access

Raspberry Pi Board
You are going to examine the Raspberry Pi for the first time! For this, you should be
standing in front of a Raspberry Pi computer. There should be no devices connected to the
PC yet.

USB PORTS
:these are
where a
mouse and

keyboard are connected. Additionally, you can attach other parts, such a USB drive.

SD card slot: This is where you insert the SD card. Both your data and the operating
system are kept in this location.

Ethernet port: this is where a cable is used to connect a Raspberry Pi to a network. Also,
Raspberry Pi may establish a wireless LAN connection to a network.

Audio jack: this is where speakers or headphones are connected.

The HDMI port: It is used to connect the projector or monitor to which you want to display
the Raspberry Pi's output. You can also listen to sound through the speakers on your
monitor if it has any.
Micro USB power connector : This is the location for a power supply connection. This
is the last thing you should ever perform, following the connection of every other
component.

GPIO ports: connectors let the Raspberry Pi to be connected to electronic parts like
buttons and LEDs.
Programming of Raspberry Pi
Required Hardware Parts
 Raspberry Pi
 micro SD card (min. 8 GB)
 Keyboard
 Mouse
 HDMI cable
 USB power adapter
 micro USB cable
 WLAN adapter

Attach the Raspberry Pi:

 To determine whether an SD card is inside your Raspberry Pi, look into the slot on
the underside of the device. Insert an SD card with Raspbian loaded if there isn't one
already (via NOOBS).
 It doesn't matter which USB port you choose to connect your mouse to your
Raspberry Pi; just locate the USB connection end of the mouse's cabl
 Use the same method to connect the keyboard.
 Verify that your screen is turned on and plugged into a wall outlet.
 Look at your Raspberry Pi's HDMI port(s) and note that they have a flat side on top.
 To connect the screen to the Raspberry Pi's HDMI connection, use a cable; if an
adapter is required, use one.
 Connect your screen to the single HDMI port.
 Use an Ethernet cable to connect the Raspberry Pi's Ethernet port to an Ethernet
socket on the wall or on your internet router if you wish to connect the Pi to the
internet via Ethernet. If you wish to connect to the internet or use wireless
connectivity, you do not need to do this.
 If your screen has speakers, your Raspberry Pi can play sound through these. Or you
could connect headphones or speakers to the audio port.
 Plug the power supply into a socket and then connect it to your Raspberry Pi’s USB
power port.
Finish the setup:
 The Welcome to Raspberry Pi program will launch and walk you through the
initial setup when you first turn on your Raspberry Pi.

 Click Next to start the setup.

 Set your Country, Language, and Timezone, then click Next again.
 Enter a new username and password for your Raspberry Pi and click Next.
 Set up ypur screen or screens.
 Connect to your WiFi network by selecting its name, entering the password,
and clicking Next.
 Click Restart to finish the setup.

Advantages of Raspberry Pi

 The Raspberry Pi is about the size of a credit card.

 The Raspberry Pi is inexpensive
 Using Raspberry Pi's to function as a server is more efficient than using a
regular server
 The Raspberry Pi is ideal for adaptive technology
 This microcomputer can be used by small businesses
Disadvantages of Raspberry Pi :
It is not a computer replacement, and the processor is not as fast. Downloading and
installing software takes time, so you won't be able to do any intricate multitasking

 Other operating systems, such as Windows, are incompatible.

 This product will not be beneficial for larger businesses that already have
large servers, which can perform all of the tasks that the Raspberry Pi can
 As a result, it would not be worth it, and putting everything together would
take time

Conclusion

1. The device's user base attests to the need for improvements to boost efficiency, namely
in the areas of heat sink integration and internal storage availability.
2. The product will be in more demand globally if it has an external case and an appropriate
user manual.
3. If the Raspberry Pi has an integrated GPU unit—which is required to run a full version of
Windows straight over the device—it will perform at a whole new level.
4. Because the Raspberry Pi integrates embedded systems technology with ordinary
computer functionality, it's the perfect board for attaching a wide range of external
peripherals.
5. It is very simple to program General-Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) pins in comparison to
FPGA or traditional microprocessors.
6. The user may tailor the Raspberry Pi to match their needs and budget thanks to its
limitless options and enhanced flexibility.
7. Lastly, the Raspberry Pi can only be utilized as an independent computer due to its
special limitations. That being said, it cannot replace a standard computer.
