ACME is a factory that manufactures machinery parts for various industries. The factory is owned by a wealthy
corporation that prioritizes profits over the well-being of its workers.

The factory floor is overcrowded. There is no proper ventilation and adequate lighting. The workspace is cluttered
and disorganized. Safety protocols and training are minimal, and protective equipment is often inadequate or
entirely absent.

The factory operates outdated and poorly maintained machinery. There is a lack of regular maintenance and
machinery malfunctions often and breaks down without warning.

Management ruthlessly imposes long, grueling working hours on the employees. Regularly scheduled shifts stretch
beyond the limits set by labor laws, so workers are constantly tired and exhausted.

Overtime laws are disregarded, with workers often forced to work extra hours without receiving proper
compensation. Additionally, the absence of break times further burdens the employees, denying them the
opportunity to recharge and look after their basic needs.

Workers are exposed to toxic chemicals without proper safety measures. Moreover, the absence of proper sanitary
facilities, such as clean washrooms and drinking water, further compromises the well-being of the employees.

a) List the challenges that workers face.

b) Make a list of laws that this business might be breaking.

c) Make a list of demands that the workers should make as part of their agreement with management.
