My name is Elaiza Marie Cuevas Venus, a fourth year college

student from Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Sta.Mesa
taking Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science. I was
born in San Mateo, Rizal on October 1, 2000 and I’m 23 years old
now.

I’am a working student since I was in second year college. I’m a

call center agent at night and a pre-service teacher in day time.
Supposedly my major is Mathematics but because of pandemic
and we do not have any access in the internet on the year of
2020, I didn’t attended one semester of my second year. When I
finally decided to go back in my studies, I also shifted to Science.
Honestly, at first when I passed PUPCET I really like to get
Science major that time but since I’m hoping that time to get
scholarship from CHED I get Mathematics major, but sadly I
didn’t get the scholarship and that is the time that I got the
thinking and ‘what if’, I change or shift to Science instead of
pursuing my dreams to become an instructor in the subject that
I’m not used to.
Since I was young, I really like to know about solar systems and
other heavenly bodies. There are times as well that I want to do
some experiments and have some discoveries since I think it is so
fun.
Since then, I'm aware of the fact that I've grown to appreciate
science since it expands my curiosity and inspires new ideas for
my research. Because we should think that everything we have
and everything we see is the result of the application of scientific
principles, science also provides us with a variety of insights into
the world around us. Through our unaided eyes, we are able to
observe its application in even the tiniest particles of life. .
