About NSOMASA
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies was found in
the year 1981 to address the rising demand of the
management institutes in the country. Built on the inspiring
legacy, today, NMIMS stands proud as a Deemed to be
University having 17 different schools offering multiple
disciplines across multiple campuses.
Nilkamal School of Mathematics, Applied Statistics and
Analytics was recently established with a mission to teach
Mathematics and Statistics in their purest form along with
disciplines’ new age derivatives encompassing a host of
enabling technologies such as use of computers, animations,
data visualizations simulations and other tools to make the
learning of mathematics and statistics exciting.
The school aims to be a Center of Excellence in the domain
of Applied Computational Mathematics, Applied Statistics and
Analytics providing quality education and research.

About Sankhyiki
Sankhyiki, an annual workshop initiated in 2006, focuses on
the practical applications of Data Science within the industry.
The workshop was conceived with the vision of equipping
students for successful careers in Statistics. Over the years,
numerous individuals have reaped the benefits of this
exceptional training, making it a valuable resource. This year
the focus is on - "Data Storytelling with PowerBI: Crafting
Compelling Narratives".

Designed as an ideal platform for students with a strong


interest in Statistics and Analytics, Sankhyiki provides a
comprehensive exposure to various industry sectors and the
latest developments in the field. The workshop features
enlightening lectures on Data Science and Data Analytics,
delivered by distinguished personalities and experts from
academia and the analytics industry. Furthermore, students
have the valuable opportunity to enhance their skills in result
interpretation through engaging case studies in data analysis.

Poster Making
Whether you're crunching numbers or exploring
the world of probabilities, this event is
designed to ignite your imagination and
showcase your artistic talents. Get ready to
blend your love for data with your artistic flair
in our poster-making competition.
Merge the world of statistics and creativity in
unique ways and create your masterpieces!

Rules
1. Duration - One hour and thirty minutes
2. Individual participation only.
3. Topics will be given on the spot.
4. Bring your own materials including chart
papers, colors, etc.

Prizes
1st Position : Cash Prize of Rs 1,000
2nd Position : Cash Prize of Rs.700
The Big Bid
The Big Bid is a simulation of the IPL Auction in
which the participants play the role of the
Stakeholders or Team owners who represent the
team and have the decision- making authority.
The participants will systematically bid in the
auction on the players they want in their team.
Strategy building, team build up and budget
management are the most important factors for
the competition. All the required stats will be
shared with the participants well in advance.

Rules
1. Each team must have 3 individuals.
2. There will be a total of 8 teams. In case of a
large number of registrations, a quiz round
will be held on 28th February after the
workshop. You will be informed if such a
round will be conducted well in advance.
3. Only 2 teams per institution are allowed.

Prizes
1st Position : Cash Prize of Rs 2,000
2nd Position : Cash Prize of Rs 1,000
SciTrivia
The theme of the quiz will be "Mathematical
Sciences and it's Applications".

Only team entries are allowed, and team shall


consist of 3 individuals. Lone wolves will not be
entertained.

Replacement of any participant of a team is not


allowed after registration.

An initial written round will be conducted earlier


in the day, following an on-stage round.

Only the top 6 teams will be selected for the


final round.

There is not limit for teams from a single


institution. However, not more than one team
per institution will be allowed to qualify for the
on-stage round.

In the case of a large number of registrations, a


elimination round will be held on 28th February
after the workshop. You will be informed if such
a round will be conducted well in advance.

The decision of the quiz-master will be final and


will not be subjected to any change.

Further rules will be discussed on the day of the


event.

1st Position : Cash Prize of Rs 2,000
2nd Position : Cash Prize of Rs 1,000

All winners will receive a certificate of appreciation.


All participants will receive a certificate of
participation for the workshop.

B.Sc. students of Statistics/Mathematics/Computer
Science from any recognised University. MSc.
students of Statistics/Applied Statistics and
Analytics/Mathematics/Computer Science from any
recognised University.
