The world of economics and commerce is a dynamic domain of ever-fluctuating global


scenarios. It’s a repository of immaculate knowledge, waiting for its surface to be explored.

It is the holistic vision of our Founder President, Dr. Ashok. K. Chauhan and nurturing vision of
our Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, that facilitates Amity International School, Saket to
conduct ECOMFORUM every year and bestow the winning school with the Late Shri Baljit Ji
Shastri Rolling Trophy. A true educationalist, a man of wisdom, Shri Baljit Ji Shastri, the Late
father of founder President Dr. Ashok.K. Chauhan, believed implicitly in the power of youth. He
visualized that the future of any nation rests in harnessing the potential and empowering the
youth.
With the said purpose in mind, our school is organizing the most coveted ECOMFORUM for
the year 2021. It includes a plethora of zestful events which aim to foster economics and
business insight amongst the students. The events will be conducted virtually via Microsoft
Teams, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on 30th October, 2021, followed by the Valedictory from
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on the same day.

GENERALRULESAND REGULATIONS

1. The coveted Baljit Singh Ji Shastri Trophy will go to the school which gets maximum
overall points. A school must participate in all the events and must be present at the
time of declaration of results to be eligible for the trophy.
2. A participant can participate in only one event in view of the simultaneous
conduction of events.
3. The host school will participate and be eligible for individual prizes but not compete
for the overall trophy.
4. The overall trophy will be awarded to the school which has the maximum overall
score and has won a prize in at least one of the individual events.
5. The schools are requested to send their confirmations by 12th October, 2021. Kindly
note that registration after the given date and on the spot registration will not be
accepted.

EVENT 1: SYMPOSIUM

TOPICS:
1.Standing on Giants or Stepping on Toes: Do Intellectual Property
Rights actually spur meaningful innovation?
2.A divine intervention or a Pipe Dream: Is the National Monetization
Pipeline a viable option to curb fiscal deficit?
3. Paradigm Shift: Can Decentralized Finance replace the Banking System?
4. Colombo Conundrum: Reason for Concern or Lesson to Learn?
5.Deus Ex Machina: Is UBI viable to ameliorate potential automation
unemployment?
6. El Salvador 's Bitcoin Game: Leading the way or Tumbling down the

RULESAND REGULATIONS

1. Economics and Commerce students of class XI & XII only are allowed to participate
in the event.
2. There will be 2 Rounds :
Round 1 - Preliminary Round (Selection).
Round 2 - Final Round
3. Team selected for the final round should prepare a speaker on any one of the above
mentioned topics for three minutes and one interjection per speaker will be allowed.
4. Each School to send one interjector who will be allowed to ask maximum of two
interjections for any speaker. No cross questioning is allowed.
5. Interjector will act as a helper to their school’s presentation.
6. The speaker should use visual aids (like PPT, Prezi) to express their views and these
will be given 25% weightage in total. Use of any other visual aid will lead to
disqualification.
7. If the speakers exceed the time limit they will be marked negatively.
8. E-Certificates shall be given to all the participants.
9. The prizes will be given to three best speakers and three best interjectors.
ROUND ONE:

PRELIMINARY ROUND

The Participants will mail a report in not more than 300 words using (MS Word only)
clearly stating their interpretation of any on the above topics, articulating it vis-a-vis the
current scenario in the macroeconomic environment and analyzing its future implications

The report has to be mailed latest by 12th October, 2021. The qualifying teams will be
informed through e-mail by 22nd October, 2021 and will proceed to the final round
which will be held on 30th October, 2021.

FINALROUND

The teams that qualify the preliminary stage will be the one’s invited to formally present the
topic with the help of a presentation to express their views.

EVENT 2: FIN-TOONS (Financial Cartoons)

Cartooning is a form of an expression. Financial cartoons express opinions on


financial issues and appeal to all level of readers. The people who draw these cartoons
possess special art skills which often incorporates caricatures, symbolism, satire and a
well-rounded understanding of the issues about which they draw. Hence, this event
will allow the students to express their views and stances on several economic issues
and debates using the form of art.

TOPIC-

1. Make in India: Upskilling and Reskilling to create Atmanirbhar Bharat

Rules for the Event :

1. Each team will be represented by one participant only.


2. The entries are to be sent to ecomforum2021@gmail.com and CC to
principal@aiss.amity.edu by 22nd October, 2021. Submissions post 12:00 pm will not
be accepted.
3. Participants have to use one half cartridge sheet.(15” * 22” )
4. A short write-up of 100-150 words should also be submitted. Additionally, a relevant
message or dialogue would also be appreciated.
5. Coloring will add to your creativity.
6. The prizes will be given to three best Cartoonists.
EVENT 3- WISDOM WAND- START UPEVENT

Imagination leads to ideas and ideas inspire us to do something new. With this thought in
mind, Wisdom Wands invites students to present their startup ideas with a social
responsibility cause.The desire is to present innovative ideas as young entrepreneurs .
The task requires the teams to get their ideas in motion and present a product or service
which will be instrumental in solving problems.

ROUND ONE:

PRELIMINARY ROUND

The Participants will mail a report in not more than 1200 words using (MS Word only)
clearly stating their business idea and how it tackles the social issue selected, or how it
stands for the selected social cause. The entries are to be sent to
ecomforum2021@gmail.com and CC to principal@aiss.amity.edu. The report has to be
mailed latest by 12th October, 2021. The qualifying teams will be informed through e-
mail by 22nd October, 2021 and will proceed to the final round, which will be held on
30th October, 2021.

FINALROUND

The teams that qualify the preliminary stage will be the one’s invited to formally present
their business pitch in front of the panelists.

RULES
1) There shall be 2 participants per team.
2) The students are required to invent a new product or a service of their own choice and
present their start-up ideas and explain how the idea will fulfill the social
responsibilities.
3) Presentation Time shall be 4 minutes (by way of Power Point Presentation/Prezi)
4) Prizes will be given for first, second and third position.
5) Each team will have to face one interjection from the judge.
