INNOVATE MIT CORER HACKATHON RULE BOOK

1. Introduction:
The 'INNOVATE MIT CORER HACKATHON' is a prestigious National-level event hosted by MIT College of
Railway Engineering and Research. The hackathon aims to encourage innovation, problem-solving, and
entrepreneurial spirit among students across Maharashtra.

2. Event Details:
- Date: January 20th - January 21st, 2024

- Venue: MIT College of Railway Engineering and Research, Industrial Estate No. 3, Barshi, Dist. Solapur,
Maharashtra 413401.

- Objective: To address real-world challenges through innovative solutions in Healthcare, Cyber Security,
Agriculture, and Environment.

3. Participation Guidelines:
- College ID Cards are compulsory.

- Eligibility: The hackathon is open to all engineering students in Maharashtra.

- Team Formation: Teams should consist of 3 to 6 members.

4. Event Schedule:
- Start Time: January 20th, 09:00 AM

- Communication: Participants will receive event updates and instructions via provided contact details.

5. Themes and Problem Statements:


- Participants can choose from the following themes: Healthcare, Cyber Security, Agriculture, and
Environment.

- Problem statements must be from above themes.

6. Rules and Regulations:


- Carry your own laptops for project implementation.

- Implementation must be from scratch.


- Projects should be conceived, developed, and completed within the 24-hour timeframe.
- Projects must be original and not previously developed or started before the hackathon begins.

- Code of Conduct: Participants must maintain professionalism, respect others, and adhere to ethical
standards throughout the event.

- Tools and Resources: Any programming languages, libraries, APIs, hardware, and software are allowed
for projects.

- No Refund Policy
- All registration fees for Hackathon Event are non-refundable.

- Cancellation by Participant
- Participants who choose to withdraw from the event will not be eligible for a refund.

7. Judging Criteria:
Projects will be evaluated based on:

Round 1: Presentation (PPT Presentations should include a demonstration of the project's


functionality Max 10 Min)

Round 2: Project Design & Implementation, Progress etc.

Round 3: Final result evaluation based on Functionality, Usability, Technical complexity etc.

8. Intellectual Property Rights:


Participants retain ownership of their ideas, projects, and code. Details on rights and open-sourcing will
be provided during the event.

9. Prizes and Recognition:


- Prizes will be awarded to winning teams.

- Announcement of winners will be made on January 21st.

10. Support and Assistance:


Mentors and technical support will be available throughout the event to assist participants.

11. Disqualification:
Actions such as cheating, plagiarism, or violation of rules will lead to immediate disqualification.

12. Breaks and Rest:


- Participants are encouraged to take breaks for rest and refreshments during the 24-hour period.

Note: Participants are not allowed to leave campus till event ends.
13. Accommodations:
Accommodation will be provided for registered participants. Please note the following details:

- Accommodation includes breakfast and tea only on 20th Jan only.

- Participants are responsible for their own lunch and dinner arrangements.
