This is to draw your kind attention. I am thrilled and excited to join the corporate job world as a fresh graduate
from the University of Waterloo. PepsiCo’s available data science intern position will be the best way to start
my career. I have pursued my master's in electrical and computer engineering with a specialization in machine
learning and artificial intelligence.

I have undergone two internships during my studies. Firstly, I was a part of a research team at machine learning
and signal processing lab NIT Surat. I collaborated with Dr. Kamal M Captain to design a Deep learning based
modulation signal classifier. I utilized Keras and PyTorch to develop a novel method of regularization
technique that uses Gaussian noise to improve the training performance of the model by decreasing the
computation time by 10%. Then, I designed a novel CNN classifier that out-performed traditional and new
deep learning-based architectures by 5% accuracy—published a conference paper [D. A. Jariwala and K. M.
Captain, "Automatic Modulation Classification: A Novel Convolutional Neural Network Based Approach,"
2021 IEEE 18th India Council International Conference (INDICON), 2021, pp. 1-6, doi:
10.1109/INDICON52576.2021.9691687.]. I completed my second internship at Cistel technology and the
University of Waterloo. I was a part of the Data science and machine learning research team. I utilized R,
python, TensorFlow, and sci-kit-learn to conduct exploratory data analysis & anomaly detection on 1-year
SACP cell data. The SACP cell data contained sensor readings like (temperature, humidity, soil moisture).
Developed novel feature extraction methodology to detect anomalies using One-Class SVM and Changepoint
detection algorithm. I have achieved more than 85% accuracy from 70% by adding a unique feature extraction
method that outperformed existing architectures—documented all research and results to submit a conference
paper in an upcoming conference (ML & AI section).

I have been a part of IoT projects where my team developed an IoT-based plant and soil monitoring system.
Project details:
• Developed an IoT system that connects: WSN, cloud, machine learning models, database, and Web
UI to monitor soil and plants.
• Connected TensorFlow model with a web application to display the CNN-based plant disease detection
system results.
• Generated a weather report (Data analysis and visualization) by connecting a wireless sensor-based
weather station to the IoT system.

I worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Waterloo in the course Data structures and algorithms. As
a teaching assistant, I developed a strong knowledge of programming and communication skills. Overall,
collaborating my abilities and technical skills supported through strong research prospects and coursework
could be an asset to your company. I would sincerely request you to review my resume and web page to
complete my work and research experience with achievements. I am looking forward to the opportunity to
discuss this position for an interview. Please contact me at +1 (226)-899 4327 or email me at
deepjariwala027@gmail.com. Thank you for the review and consideration.

Sincerely,
Deep Ashish Jariwala
