• Flexural properties

Flexural strength refers to maximum bending stress on composites when subjected to bending
loads.

This depends on various factors, such as fiber materials, particle size, and percentage of filler
and fiber orientations.

• Compressive properties

• Impact resistance testing

• Tribological properties

• Fatigue resistance

• Scratch resistance (surface hardness)

Recent research has focused on the use of natural fibers in hybrid composites
for structural applications, driven by their biodegradability, renewability, and
availability. However, these composites face challenges such as delamination
and manufacturing defects. To address these issues, chemical treatments of
the natural fibers have been explored, leading to improved mechanical and
thermal properties. The use of hybrid composites, which combine natural and
synthetic fibers, has also been proposed as a solution, offering balanced
strength and stiffness, reduced weight and cost, and improved resistance.
These composites have been extensively studied for their mechanical
properties, with the rule of mixtures and linear laminate theory being used to
predict their behavior.
