1.

Plato is a Greek philosopher who made significant contributions to the teaching of

physical education and health since he invented physical education and hosted classes at
his Akademia school. Plato made children aware of physical fitness because he intended
to emphasize the value of physical education not only for their health but also for soul
development and the harmonious balance of the material and spiritual.

Plato's physical education program aimed to produce self-directed, lifelong physical

activity that stimulated and fostered intellectual growth. According to Plato, in order for
people or students to be productive, physical education is necessary. aids in preparing
students for professions as athletes or warriors. Plato believes that physical education has
a significant positive impact on the advancement of their global society.

Physical education, as it is today, teaches athletes how to perform the proper workouts in
order to reach their goals. Manny Pacquiao, as a boxer, introduced our country and
sparked interest in learning physical education, demonstrating how they can become good
fighters through physical education.

Speaking of physical education, Plato stated in "The Republic" that two kinds of
education were required: educating the mind and educating the body. Educating the mind
is required in order to be accountable for the duties that will arise. Educating the body is
necessary since you must increase your body's ability rather than neglect it in order to
reach your goals.

2. Galen wrote a number of publications that are significant in medical history, including his
book On Hygiene, which has the greatest information on the significance of exercise in
improving health.

It is important to include hygiene in the teaching of physical education and health

because, with this, we can avoid unhealthy diets and illnesses.

Galen's view that health could be improved through one's own behaviors, such as eating
well and getting enough sleep and exercise. We need to give importance to our health.
So, we should be responsible for what we should do for ourselves.

Galen's "medical theory" was founded on the "naturals," "non-naturals," and "contra-
naturals". Galen's medical approach was centered on hygiene and the uses and abuses of
the "six things non-natural". The "six things non-natural" were: 1) Air, 2) food and drink
(diet), 3) sleep and waking, 4) motion (exercise) and rest, 5) excretions and retentions,
and 6) passions of the mind.

Galen's medical theory was supported by the "six things non-natural," which were
external to the body, not innate, and over which a person had some control. Galen
advocated that these factors be observed and used in moderation to ensure healthy health.
However, if these are not followed effectively or executed in excess, it will produce an
imbalance in the body, leading to illness or disease.
We need to give importance to our health. So, we should be responsible for what we
should do for ourselves.

So the philosopher Galen's belief in teaching physical education and health is also
important because it helps us know the proper care of our body, which is a very important
part of our lives.

3. Hippocrates, who is universally honored as the father of medicine, was the first to
introduce the revolutionary notion that diseases arise either from excessive food or too
much exercise, and when the two are balanced this leads to good health.

Maintaining good health requires more than just eating well; a man has to exercise as
well. Despite having opposing qualities, food and exercise both support the preservation
of health. Exercise's inherent ability to mobilize bodily resources contrasts with food and
drink's capacity to replenish them. It appears necessary to discover the exact powers of
various exercises, both natural and artificial, and which of them contribute to muscle
development and which to wear.

It is important that we humans are knowledgeable about such things. So, Hippocrates'
statement that too much food and activity might be harmful to one's health is significant.
It is not because you exercise and eat that you are already healthy; sometimes we are
unaware that the habit we are forming is incorrect, therefore you need carefully study the
proper procedure for a healthy and attractive body. This part is significant in the study of
physical education and health since it makes us aware of the incorrect habits for
maintaining a healthy body.
